Molly v Molly
Nine shifting Hey Hey's reunion to Wednesday will put Molly Meldrum up against.... Molly Meldrum on the ABC.

It’s a saga that gets more complicated with every passing day.
First Seven didn’t want Molly Meldrum to appear on the Hey Hey it’s Saturday reunion.
Then Foxtel expressed similar concerns, citing its exclusive contract.
Then Nine went and moved the reunion from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Now Meldrum will be up against his own appearance on the Spicks and Specks ’70s special, to screen on September 30th.
Crazy.
Meanwhile, as to Molly’s on-again, off-again appearance in the show, Daryl Somers has said, “Regardless of what you may have heard, I can assure you that Molly is over the line.
“There is absolutely no doubt that he will be on the show. I even spoke to him over the weekend where he is in London filming a segment for us.”
It’s funny how neither Seven nor Foxtel had an issue with his ABC appearance.
Maybe now ABC can get in on the act and complain about Hey Hey moving nights? Just to even things out a little…..

Harry Connick Jr has been booked to appear on one of the Hey Hey specials according to Red Symons in an interview on 2UE’s George and Paul program.
I will be watching Molly…on Spicks & Specks.
@Bogues
spicks and specks isnt on iview as they cannot broadcast the copyrighted songs online without permission.
ABC, Bring back The Saturday Show On Friday.
@Bogues – S&S isnt on iView. I went to their live show last year and Adam explained why there were not allowed to make DVDs or broadcast on the Internet…….. they dont have budget to pay for the licence to be able to do it. They are allowed to broadcast on TV and thats it.
But like u said ABC2 is a backup plan. I actually use my PVR to record every time it is on… (a few times a week)… great to watch all the old episodes
Two of the best aussie shows of all time (hey hey and countdown) represented on the same night 🙂 Awesome!!
And how groovy is Alan’s 70’s outfit..!
Reminds me of the Saturday Show on the ABC which if memory serves me right was screened on Friday nights in QLD sometime in the late 1970’s, early 1980’s. Thus it was The Saturday Show on a Friday Night.
I aslo used to recall when HHIS used to run over past midnight on a couple of occasions back when they were live on late Saturday evenings, that at the stroke of midnight, they would roll Hey Hey Its Sunday titles.
Never watched the show much past when it moved to the 6.30pm timeslot, and less so when it started to be pre-recorded on Friday nights. By then the format and host had become stale, as the show had lost alot of its spontenaity by then and was more controlled, thus had become bland and boring. Not seeing Ossie anymore lost me too as Ernie Carrol was much more funnier than Darryl anyday.
Will be interesting to see how it goes this time round.
At this rate, Nine will be bringing back Ford Superquiz, Bert is back on the Nine books again, so why not utilise hime more and make him earn his mega salary?
Why was it moved to Wednesday?…Nine are nervous…or did they need an extra day to get the over the line rehersals wise?…or even better are they still recording on Tuesday and playing out on Wednesday…so many questions…
Ch9 still haven’t realised..
1st> Tuesday isnt Saturday
2nd> Wednesday isnt Saturday
someone tell those idiots, unless it airs on Saturday.. this reunion special is pointless!
S&S is replayed on ABC2 on Thursday, so you can catch Molly twice if needed. And of course there is also iView too.
