Hahahaha pmsl. Funny man David. Do you know how many calories dust has??? Zero, so you can have as much as you like. LOL
Really Nine, it’s just dust, it still looks the same whether you show it for 1 minute on the news or 20 minutes.
No wonder their ratings are turning… to dust!
when the sky went yellow here we thought it was a bush fire, so turned on the radio to make sure it wasn’t anywhere near us then heard it was a dust storm, after that we thought who cares, dust never hurt anybody. the most annoying thing now is all the bugs that came with it. “apocalyptic”? if anyone actually seriously thought the world was ending they need to look at why they are so irrational and susceptible to hysteria.
how typical of the Sydney media to overreact.
Had a few good lol’s at the Daily Telegraph treating it like the apocalypse.
Why does everyone outside of Sydney have an issue with us taking joy in watching the sky turn blood red. It’s never done it before in all my years, and it looks spectacularly beautiful.
I live in Wagga for three years and saw lots of dust storms, but this is on another level.
I pity those who are eating Nine’s dust right now.
ROFL! David!!
You can tell the comments from people not in Sydney. in fact the dust has made its way up the coast and is now in Brisbane. I’m up the coast a little from Sydney and it peaked here at 7am making it actually darker at 7 than 5.30am which is 10 minutes before sunrise. It is a big deal.
What is the problem with the extended news anyway? Just means one less episode of Two and a Half Men for the week!
guys you should be grateful, this is going to push 2.5 Men off for the night (in Sydney anyway)
@ Russell
Oh come on i live around the area. Why do we need an extra 1/2 hour of people going on about dust. I mean bushfires or floods i can understand but dust storms happen all the time, its just this one is bigger. This is Nine just being stupid.
ok this i do not understand. how many pictures of red dust can there be to fill up another half an hour???
yes it was a big thing but if you wanted to know information you would have already found it by 6pm. I saw the report of Ten news and they spent maybe 5-7 minutes talking about it, covered alll angles and then moved on.
Dust? Anyone?
Dusssst? Dussssst? No?
Anyone?
Jay Jay = someone not from Sydney
Russell = someone from Sydney
You just need to check out the social networking pages to see the size of this story – warranted or not. Dawn this morning did feel apocolyptic.
what a waste of time it was only a dust storm it not as if it was anythng major like a bushfire of cyclone a bit of a media beef up i think
It’s a local sydney Newscast for sydneysiders with a fascinating news story in their city. Not everyone is home by 6 to see the news. Probably because they are stuck in the dust! What’s wrong with an extended local Sydney newscast on the day of a big local news event??
count me out………i wonder what they will fill? a shot from a helicopter? a shot of the harbor bridge?
Its not that exciting people (well it was a bit) but half an hour?
good grief.
They need an extra half hour to report on dust? My god that’s dedication to news …
Why do they always think more is better?
Bloody predictable (and unnecessary).
this is hilarious! Nothing has happened to warrant this. No deaths, accidents, major problems. It is interesting but what can they show us for an extra 30 minutes. Sydneysiders are so in to themselves it isn’t funny
This additional half hour is bound be groundbreaking journalism and riveting television. I can’t wait to see what the red dust looks like from different vantage points around Sydney.
Is the whole hour really necessary?
