Tila Tequila ‘choked’ by boyfriend

US Reality TV personality Tila Tequila was involved in a domestic incident with her boyfriend on the weekend in which footballer Shawne Merriman was accused of choking her.

Tequila, 27, who appeared in the dating show A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila, signed a citizen’s arrest warrant, charging Merriman with battery and false imprisonment.

Merriman, 25, was taken into custody. Tequila, whose real surname is Nguyen, was taken to hospital.

A police spokeswoman said Tequila had been drinking (living up to the surname…).

A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila screened in Australia on Pay Television in which the bisexual Tequila was at the centre of a love twist dating game with both men and women.
