Dante’s Cove is coming to GO!

The series, a gothic melodrama with sexual undertones, was produced for the gay & lesbian cable channel Here! in the US in 2005.

Set on a Caribbean island it revolves around the romance between Kevin and Toby who stay at a Hotel which has a spirit in the basement who lost her husband as a result of a gay affair in 1840.

Along there way there is jealousy, hot guys, murder, hot guys, betrayal, lust, supernatural elements and hot guys.

The sex scenes are highly charged and elaborately staged, while the dramatic scenes play out like a daytime soap (for better or worse). All up it’s like Passions meets QAF.

Later eps even included Amazing Race winner Reichen Lehmkuhl.

Reviews for the show were pretty poor, but so far three seasons have been completed with a fourth apparently in production.

Nine has slated the season well, on a Monday night to follow on after a repeat season of The Vampire Diaries and Nip / Tuck.

It premieres 10:30pm Monday December 7th on GO!

  1. This was definitely misrepresented on the tv ads! not exactly what I thought I was tuning into!! acting is shocking.. and isn’t that an old Dynasty snatch?? I couldn’t believe Go! was playing it, but I didn’t want to look away either!! .. makes me wonder then why Go! hasn’t it picked up Trueblood which is pretty raunchy too? might as well now, the bar is set!

  2. Oh my, I was just thinking about this show yesterday! A real delicious guilty pleasure.

David, do you have any new info regarding GO! on Foxtel satellite? 7Two has been confirmed, but I don’t believe GO! has been officially confirmed.

  3. This show is horrible! It’s pretty much just softcore porno. Not even a good storyline. If GO! was going to show some gay content, why not something of more quality? QAF would have been a better choice. How about Rick and Steve, anyone?

  4. Good on GO! Lets home some annoying family lobby group doesn’t ruin this opportunity by making a code complaint to ACMA. People forget that networks would be able to show a lot more if viewers didn’t complain about something as trivial as 2 men kissing. Blame the viewers, not the networks!

  5. This is very intresting, i herd a rumour that channel nine brought the rights to Queer as Folk the UK version so no other network could show it. Seems like an odd thing to do when they have no intention of screening it. Yet they going to screen this, go figure what goes through these peoples heads.

  6. Geez I wish I had this on TV at 10.30 when I was a teenager! I can just see a lot of parents up in arms! Imagine all the unintentional outings as Mum walks into little Johnny’s room as he’s got his eyes glued (and maybe not just his eyes) to Dante’s Cove…and not just once… LOL

  7. Ohh my god. This show is really explicit, worse than Queer as folk. I’ve tried looking for it on the internet (Im not gonna go buy the seasons from the shop how wud that look lol) but couldn’t find any whole episodes, all the sex scenes are out there. just the other day I was hoping SBS would pick it up, but even better if its on GO! Just got a bit excited…

  8. Gee Monday nights on GO! are going to be very sexy and steaming with those three shows. I think GO! has become the first channel to program a night where pretty much everyone’s choices are catered for !!!

  9. I wonder how much will get cut. It’s reasonably naughty! I’ve caught season 1 on DVD. The acting is pretty bad but the eye candy makes up for this. Hopefully GO! goes straight into S2 as they’re fairly short seasons and I can pick up where I left off. Be prepared for a jaw dropping moment in episode 1 where you are confronted by a ginormous penis. Didn’t know they made em like that!
