Kate back to ‘first love’
Kate Ritchie will focus on acting in 2010 as the Merrick and Rosso show winds up on Sydney's Nova radio.
Following on from news that Merrick and Rosso will wind up their radio brekkie show on Nova, the station has issued a Press Release which indicates co-presenter Kate Ritchie will return to acting.
“When Kate joined Nova 969 after 20 years on television, we knew that she wanted a new challenge,” said the statement.
“She was ready for a change from TV and wanted to add a new dimension to her already stellar career. She impressed listeners at what a natural talent she was on radio. Joining Nova 969 was an opportunity for Kate to build her personality beyond the small screen and was something she took to naturally.
“In her time at Nova, she’ s proven to be a wonderful radio talent, adding a fresh spark to the breakfast team. The Nova family looks forward to watching her on the small screen next year and she will be an ongoing friend of dmg Radio Australia.”
Ritchie, who has appeared in Underbelly since departing Home and Away, will also co-host the 2009 ARIA Awards on Nine this month. She previously had a role in the ABC’s telemovie The Stepfather.
Merrick Watts will continue with Nova in 2010.
