Nip / Tuck finale in March

FX Network announces the final airdates for Nip / Tuck and the third season of Damages.

ntThe FX Network has announced final dates for Nip / Tuck in the US, to begin on January 6th and to conclude in March.

This is significantly earlier than previous suggestions it would begin later in 2010 and end in 2011.

The final batch of 10 episodes will complete the sixth season. But most Nip / Tuck fans know this has been dragging out for too long. The show has never topped its third season with the mystery of The Carver and even creator Ryan Murphy said he was moving on before eventually changing his mind. He has since gone on to create Glee.

GO! is currently airing Season 5 which sees the surgeons of McNamara / Troy relocated to Los Angeles (jump the shark, anyone?). The first half of the sixth season is currently airing in the US to end in 2 weeks time.

Meanwhile, FX has also announced the third season of Damages, to begin on January 25. The 13-week run will see Lily Tomlin, Keith Carradine and Len Carion guest star.

  1. Season 6 definitely the best season since Season 3. Storylines have been finally a bit more complex then the junk that was served for the past 2 seasons. Pleased to hear that FX are just going to get it over and done with rather then hold off a show thats already wound up production for another 10 months.

  2. Funny enough, the sixth season has been absolutely gripping and almost as good as season 2 and 3 so far – back to the darker days. To get around 100 episodes for any show is a great achievement. Better to end on top than to squeeze the life out of a good idea ….. ahem, Prison Break, ER, Lost etc

  3. i’m a nip/tuck fan but the season currently screening on GO! has so far been terrible…the storylines that were once cutting edge have now diminished and replaced with silly soap opera scenarios that even the cast feel they have had enough of it so in a way its a good thing to wrap it up…hopefully i’ll be proven wrong.

  4. As ridiculous and over the top as Nip/Tuck often gets, it’s a sick show, of which there sadly aren’t enough of, so it should’ve gone to 8 seasons. Going by it’s always fairly abysmal US ratings and also being an expensive show to make, it’d be surprising if Damages gets a season 4.
