CBS has pulled Three Rivers from its Monday night schedule, effective immediately.
The news for the Alex O’Loughlin medical drama follows it being dumped by TENÂ just one episode in Australia.
The show, which is still in production will complete its order of 13 episodes, but a network spokesman could not say when it might return. It has been averaging 8.4 million viewers but audiences have been declining since its debut. Currently the show ranks #45th amongst primetime shows.
Three Rivers will be replaced by repeats of NCIS: LA, which is not so different to the NCIS repeats TEN replaced it with.

What a shame. I loved this show so much that I was watching it once Ten gave it the old heave-ho. Very disappointing that people didn’t catch on – the transplant angle gave it a real point of difference and there were cliffhangers around every corner. Brilliant characters and buckets of heart. I’ll miss this one!
I anticipated this from the first commercial but if I’d even just heard the title earlier I could have done the same. Three Rivers was doomed from the start.
@ moog: I think Alex O’Loughlin is more like the male Anna Torv (who finally struck gold with Fringe after previous ratings failures in Australia, US and UK).
CBS must be like TEN here, pull a show and put in NCIS re-runs LOL
I liked it but the one problem I did have with it was the tech was a bit over the top for any current medical facility out side of the USS Enterprise.
I hope they air all 13 eps somewhere, see this is what happens when they axed Moonlight…
Maybe Alex O’Loughlin is the male Melissa George – he should keep trying until he strikes gold…
@ Jed
Alex O’Loughlin sure is having rough time with the shows he does. Nothing seems to last any longer than one season these days. Perhaps he’s cursing these shows without even knowing it. lol

Just a note – Three Rivers screens on Sunday nights on CBS
Well surely Ten can stick on 12 episodes of this on over Summer. The first episode wan’t really that bad so shame it didn’t rate, and it’s not like Ten don’t have room for it over summer.
Poor Alex O’Loughlin.
