  1. Thats ok Billy!

I am an award show junkie and it annoys me when they are only shown on Foxtel when there are so many reasons why people don’t have pay tv, but who would enjoy watching the award shows as much as people who do have pay tv!

Anyhoo, I found ‘other’ means of watching the GG’s so have now seen what was only shown on pay tv anyway.

Hope you enjoyed them – Ricky Gervais was a scream!! 🙂

  2. Sorry about that Kylie and Beckala. No it doesn’t make you unqualified .Yes you’re right .Sometimes if hearing something has won an award that makes people want to see something too . I didn’t think of it that way. I’m thinking of reasons why free to air decided not to air them. But they are probably different reasons altogether from mine.Money reasons. Sorry aagin.

  3. It’s a disgrace that the Free to Air networks are not televising the Golden Globes, especially with the trash they dish out night after night. I can’t get Foxtel where I live, nor would I pay the ridiculous prices they charge – old TV shows, movies that are not current, plus ads to boot. I had Sky pay TV in the UK with over 300 channels and my total monthly bill including internet (unlimited downloads), phone and all international calls was about $150 per month. Give us value for money Foxtel!!

  4. Michael C. Hall has to finally win the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama this year given that Bryan Cranston isn’t nominated. Also thanks for all the viewing times David. Now I don’t have to go searching through the EPG. Cheers.

  5. Billy, that is about as logical as saying that the Oscars should only be shown to the peole who have seen every movie nominated. Which, unless you are a member of the academy, is nigh on impossible. Just because you don’t see every nominee doesn’t mean you don’t have the right to see the show. I loved seeing Heath Ledger win the Academy Award, Golden Globe, SAG etc, before I saw The Dark Knight. Does this make me “unqualified” to view ths speeches?!

  6. Glad that it won’t be on free to air . Most of the shows are from Foxtel and if it was on free to air people with only free to air will just see shows they don’t watch getting an award.
There’s too much program sharing .
Finally something that is only for Foxtel.

  7. So why not FTA coverage, weren’t they interested?

I guess if you only have FTA then watch ET as they usually have a full coverage of the highlights and remember you don’t have to sit through 3 hours of awards show.

I’ll be working at my desk with the TV on in the back ground to catch the starts I want to see.

  8. This is always the best Awards night of the season – because it’s both tv and movies, there are very few of the boring categories like “Art Direction”. I am So So Annoyed that FTA is not showing it – chances are, Toni Collette will take it out, Simon Baker is in with a good shot, but also, it is so much better than a lame repeat movie. I can’t get pay tv, so it is incredibly frustrating. Come on Ten, put it to air in full – like someone else said above – I don’t care what time it’s shown, I can always “time shift” it and watch it later, as it should be viewed – drinking copious amounts of champagne and making up drinking rules (take a drink every time there is standing ovation, someone cries, someone walks off stage the wrong way etc).

  9. I wouldn’t be too worried, as the GG awards are one of the most ridiculous
(in terms of credibility) US award shows on TV, if not the most ridiculous, if anyone researches it’s background and structure. Actors and the studios primarily get behind it to promote their new releases.

  10. Thanks for nothing FTA!! Not everyone has Pay Tv.

You’d think with some Aussies nominated it would have been shown – I don’t care if it was on at midnight as long as it was on.

  11. Very disappointed that it is not being shown on Free-To-Air. It’s going to be a good show with Ricky Gervais at the helm. Plus I want to see if Avatar can take out Best Picture.
