Aussie production companies in international acclaim

Good news for two more Aussie production companies: Sticky Pictures and Hoodlum.

Monster Auditions by Australian production company Sticky Pictures has been selected for the prestigious Annecy International Animated Film Festival 2010 in France.

The series, comprising short monologues of monsters visiting a life-coach/psychiatrist, was produced for SBS in 2009. It was selected for the TV Category.

Sticky Pictures short film Scary Therapy was also selected in the short film category (non-competitive).

“After we finished the shorts we knew the material was strong enough to work in another medium. With editor Zen Rosenthal, we crafted a film that focussed on the monsters with bigger problems best viewed from the psychiatrist’s chair” says writer-producer Stu Connolly.

Meanwhile Emmy and BAFTA winners, Brisbane digital entertainment company Hoodlum, are up for yet another international award for “Primeval Evolved” at the 2010 International Digital Emmy Awards in Cannes on April 12.

Heroes‘ creator and executive producer Tim Kring will receive the International Academy’s Pioneer Prize.
