Returning: South Park

New episodes of South Park finally return to SBS next month while the show reaches 200 episodes in the USA.

New episodes of South Park finally return to SBS ONE next month with the episode “Fatbeard.”

In this episode, Cartman misinterprets news reports about Piracy in Somalia to mean the return of the classic era of swashbuckling pirates, and misleads a handful of South Park boys to voyage to Mogadishu to start a pirate crew.

It aired in the US in April 2009.

Meanwhile the show celebrates its 200th episode in the US today by bringing back everyone it has ever offended into one episode. The Web site southpark200.com offers a forum for fans to post their own congratulations.

It returns at 10pm Monday May 3rd.

  1. @franz chong, have you seen the ratings for Man Vs Wild this week? It is getting up to Top Gear (on SBS) levels.

Good to see SBS is continuing with the policy of being no less than 12 months behind in shows. Jokes about Tiger Woods, Twilight and Avatar will be so much funnier in a year’s time.

  2. It is about time SBS brought this back Don’t totally agree with the 10pm Timeslot though why don’t they just get rid of Man versus Wild and put it on at 8:30pm given the lack of decent alternatives elsewhere other than Channel 10 for the Monday Nights.

  3. @vinny – watched a series 14 ep of South Park last night, and it was in widescreen.
also I believe the reason the Amazing Race isn’t in widescreen is because different camera crews are used depending on the country they’re in, and given the nature of some of the locations, it’s doubtful all of these would be widescreen yet, so rather than chopping and changing between widescreen and 4:3, potentially half way through an ep, 4:3 is maintained throughout.

  4. @reubot – I don’t think it is yet in widescreen – not sure why some US shows in 2010 are still not being made in widescreen eg The Amazing Race yet shows like Doctor Phil and Oprah are in widescreen.

GO! is now up to showing the year 2005 episodes of South Park.

Now we get South Park on Monday on SBS and repeats on Tuesday on GO!…

    Yay !

  5. A funny, funny animated series – one of the best ever! Thank God it’s back as we have a serious lack of comedy on free-to air at the moment. Ch. 10, bring back new eps of The Office please. Likewise to Ch 7 and Parks & Recreation. And why has the Malcolm In The Middle repeat train run off the rails? We now get one a week and that’s usually out of sequence – one week Lois is pregnant, then the next week Jamie is throwing up everywhere and the following week she’s still got Jamie in her tummy!
