Robbie wins So You Think You Can Dance 2010

18yo Sydney dancer Robbie Kmetoni has won the title of "Favourite Dancer" in So You Think You Can Dance Australia 2010.

18 year old Sydney dancer Robbie Kmetoni has won So You Think You Can Dance Australia.

He beat 19yo Jessie Hesketh for the 2010 title as “Favourite Dancer”, taking home $200,000 and one of three professional dance contracts on offer. He has chosen an offer to tour Burn The Floor in the USA with Jason Gilkison.

Kmetoni has said, “I will give more than half to my family and use the other half to go to America to do workshops for about three months. I’d also like to buy a hot car, a Jeep Wrangler I’m thinking…”

The two best friends who go way back to their days together in high school were the last surviving dancers of TEN’s reality contest.

Ivy and Phillipe, who were also in the Top 4,  were eliminated during tonight’s Grand Final.

TEN’s finale included the return of its top contestants in a Hairspray spectacular, plus performances from the cast of Fame and the Australian Dance Theatre.

  1. I also want to thank nat for an awesome job hosting! she is slowly creeping towards gretel’s awesome hosting, alot more natural and bubbly and not as stiff as in previous seasons so great job.

  2. Congratulations on the win Robbie, but could you please close your mouth next time as it attracts flies and an open mouth doesn’t look good for a photo.

    1. In fairness I don’t think his mind was on photos or screenshots during such an emotional moment. He actually started the series relucant to smile because he wears braces, but by the end he was smiling proudly. Good for him.

  3. Congratulations Robbie- Well done!! You’ve made your parents proud..

and as the saying goes .. “Passion is the genesis of genius”

All the best in your new venture.. Take Care.

  4. SYTYCD production team made a cracker of a show. World Class. The diversity of Australian dance showcased with top notch talent and even an international guest – thoroughly entertaining television which presents Aussie youth in the best possible way. And not a pink ostrich, cheesey host or interruping voiceover required. Why more people watched Hey Hey its Tired, I will never understand.

  5. Congrats Robbie; a well-deserved winner indeed! Of course both Jessie and Ivy were just as deserving also. And what a great finale it was also with some really outstanding performances!

  6. I voted for Jessie, and wish she won… My favourite dancer never wins – Rhys from S1 (runner up), Amy from S2 (third), now Jessie from S3 (runner up)…

  7. Yeah good on you Robbie. I nearly didn’t watch this series because the audition process really got on my nerves. However, I’m glad I perservered as it got better each week. However, I think I have been traumatised by overuse of the word “journey”. By the way is that really his surname? I got the impression he is of Italian extraction and there is no “k” in the Italian alphabet.
