Madonna to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol?

Yeah right.

This one stems from The Sun in the UK. Believe it when we see it….

“Simon is going to leave a gaping hole. Not only is he an expert, he’s also a big star in the States,” says a source.

“Everyone agrees Madge would be great and they want her as a full-time judge. But if that fails they’d at least like her as a mentor.”

Nowhere does it actually quote her or even a source close to her to indicate she’s interested.

Elton John already reckons he turned it down.

Cowell’s exit will be seen live on FOX8 tomorrow from 10am and repeated from 7:30pm. There may be an Idol winner announced somewhere in there too. Put your money on Bowersox. They sing for their lives tonight.

  2. I usually love american idol and was hooked on last year (I heart Adam Lambert) but this has been the most un-inspiring season so far, ill only be tuning in for the finale for the Cowell farewell..

  3. i’d love Crystal to win, she has been my favourite from the start of this series, but last week’s surge for Lee with Lord Simon’s blessing and adulation will be more compelling for the Idol audience. He will make a run of three boring male singers to win. I think idol will be in trouble without Cowell. Despite being an obnoxious, narcissistic and arrogrant twat, he commands huge influence and presence for the show. Still 9 years is pretty darn good. I still hold hope for Mama Sox!

  4. Idol without Simon – Hmm… they really will need someone good to replace him! Such a shame he’s going.

    I’m going for Lee. I think he may bring it home despite Crystal being the earlier favourite.

  5. I hope Crystal wins. She has such a great stage presence. Lee is so boring next to her. She reminds me of Janis Joplin.

    It will be interesting to see who makes a career out of Idol this year. Most will probably never be heard of again. I think Casey has a chance of ongoing success. I guess we will wait and see

  6. Strange thing though: the sun is really close with Simon Cowell. They even had him on the front page during the election advising readers who to vote for. If anyone knows Simon knows and he just might have told the sun…
