Adriana Xenides will be farewelled today by family and close friends at a small private funeral in the outer western Sydney suburb of Leppington.

The small service is in keeping with her wishes.

TV1 publicist and friend Michael Shephard said Xenides was a perfectionist at anything she undertook. said.

“She was kind of from another world. She was very old-world, in her own way she was always a bit aristocratic,” he told news.com.au.

“She was generous to a fault.”

Despite some headlines about a tragic end, Xenides had recently completed a TV hair and make-up course, but found it hard to find employment.

“When you are incredibly famous, people turn around and go, why would you want to work behind a counter?” he said.

“She applied for all these different jobs, but they would not give her a go.

“Despite all the things stacked up against her, she was just trying to get on with her life and move forward,” he said.

“She wasn’t a suicidal, desperate figure.”

  1. Adriana may have left this world but she won’t be forgotten. I think it would be a great idea if channel 7 or 7TWO were to show old episodes of Wheel of Fortune featuring her.
