First look at the full trailer for Hawaii Five-0 is pretty impressive (even if the opening shot looks very Lost… and that’s before Daniel Dae Kim steps into shot).

Will it be enough for Alex O’Loughlin to have a hit? Hopefully.

The show reportedly has a stack of location scenes, taking full advantage of its stunning backdrop.

Coming to TEN.

  1. The trailer looks awesome! The cast looks to get along with each other well. Looking forward to the show which I hope will last several seasons. Channel Ten has better keep this show on the air more than one episode… after what they did with Three Rivers… and Moonlight before that.
    Go Alex!

  2. actually looks good, lots of faces I recognise, the guy with dreads looks like jason momoa from stargate atlantis but I can’t get a good look and I can’t find anything that says it is him.

  3. It looks great! I am definitely watching.
I adore Alex O’Loughlin and believe this will be a huge hit for him.
It has averyting: drama, action, humor, and a good cast.
    Book them Alex!

  4. This show is going to be awesome! Bring on Alex O’Loughlin and company. They plan to entertain us with a vengeance. Fasten your seatbelt for the ride! Can’t wait!

  5. In answer to Alex; yes, that is definitely James Marsters as the baddie. He is going for an Irish accent I believe. He isn’t in the pilot much unfortunately, but will be a recurring character as McGarrett’s arch enemy. How much he’ll be in the series is anybody’s guess. He’s a very popular actor and no doubt the writers would love to have him in many episodes, but how many times can your nemesis make an appearance, and subsequently give you the slip, before making you look like a fool? Sadly, I don’t think he’ll be in it enough to please his many fans.

  6. @Alex-that is most definitely James Marsters and he is very excited about being the villain on H5O,I just saw a recent interview and James was very impressed with Alex O’Loughlin’s stunt skills.

  7. I don’t understand why they would need to remake a show. Can’t they just start a new cop show set in Hawaii? Effectively that’s what they’re doing anyway. Preferably one starring Sawyer and Miles from Lost.

  8. Yes that is James Masters who was Spike from Buffy and Angel. When I saw him I thought, interesting he’s working with Alex O’laughlin who was in the Angel clone Moonlight. But yes, this show looks good!

  9. Someone help me, the guy at the start, the guy who says “My brother’s dead, isn’t he?”, is that James Marsters. Doesn’t sound like him, most definitely looks like him!

  10. Grace just leaves me with a Homer Simpson like expression 🙂

The opening credits can also be found on youtube, unfortunately they look like an alternate take of the NCIS LA credits…

  11. Ok so I’m a Hawaii Five O goose. Kona Kalakaua is the characters name, played by Grace Park. And no, I never saw Battlestar Galactica to recognise her. Bet she never wore a bikini in space though.

  12. if last season’s recurring theme was medical dramas, this seasons is action shows. there are heaps coming. H50 is one of the better looking ones.
there is Chase, Detroit 187, Blue Bloods, RideAlong, The Event, Undercovers, The Cape, Nikita, No Ordinary Family and Hawaii Five-0.

interesting direction considering last years 3 new action dramas that had good looking trailers; Human Target, Trauma, and Miami Medical all turned out to be flops.

  13. OMG! Where has Kono Kalakaua been hiding? This should be renamed Hawaii 10 out of 10. Looks awesome, can’t wait – bring it on Ten – the sooner the better.

  14. this looks awsome and can be a huge hit for Ten. Shame they wont have MasterChef in Septemeber to help lauch it. I think this could work well with NCIS LA, both seem to have that fun actioned pack feel to it

  15. i watched the promo and i’d never know it was a remake of an old show.

looks fantastic and i’d be watching. looks like a totally new show to me

  16. I was never a big fan of the original Hawaii Five-O, but this one looks like a winner — if the subsequent episodes maintain the quality of the first episode.

  17. This is the show I am most looking forward to in the new season. Looks fantastic!! Action, humour, good looking cast and Hawaii as a back-drop…can’t go wrong.
