Here is the trailer for Scoundrels, the US adaptation of NZ dramedy Outrageous Fortune.
It premieres in the US this Sunday on ABC with Virginia Madsen as Cheryl West (she’ll have her work cut out to improve on Robyn Malcolm) and David James Elliott as Wolfgang “Wolf” West.
A family of small-town criminals is shaken when their father is sentenced to a surprisingly long prison term, leaving mom to take care of the criminally enterprising brood. In an effort to keep her kids out of trouble, she decides it’s time for the family to go straight, despite their best efforts to maintain the status quo, on the premiere of Scoundrels.
Season Five of the NZ original begins in Australia at 10pm next Monday on TEN.

I would much prefer to watch the original. Bring back the Go Girls as well.
Most Americans have no idea that Outrageous Fortune exists so this is quite a novelty TV series for them from what I have read. Have to admit they have lined up a pretty hot cast including David James Elliott (JAG) , Virginia Madsen (Movie actress?) and Carlos Bernard (24).
Anyway of finding out if it will air here in Australia anytime soon?

Funnily enough, David James Elliott looks more like Antony Starr’s father than Grant Bowler does.
Most US bloggers think the material is far below Madsen’s talents. But Robyn Malcolm just owns that role.
Sadly it will never be as good as the Original, New Zealand show. Found the trailer to be incorrect when advertised as “an original new series”.
I can’t wait for Season 6 to air, so I can buy in on DVD, coz no doubt Channel 10 will not air it non stop without amoving it about. They couldn’t even show Season 5 in one sequence….
