Idol report: Now Kara is out

Following Ellen DeGeneres' resignation, and Jennifer Lopez's apparent instalment, Kara DioGuardi has been let go from American Idol.

Following Ellen DeGeneres’ resignation, and Jennifer Lopez’s apparent instalment on the American Idol judging panel, now there is a report that Kara DioGuardi is out.

TMZ says she has been let go from the FOX show.

It comes after speculation that as many as all Idol judges could be replaced. Randy Jackson has reportely been kept to continue a link to the original judges.

Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler is that latest name in rumours (hope not!)

Prior to DeGeneres’ exit it was expected an Idol announcement would be forthcoming on Monday, but now that is off the agenda. JLo’s deal is apparently still not finalised.

  1. I liked Kara she definately knew what she was talking about with her comments as she has a very successful songwriting /producing career. I know my husband is disappointed he found her very easy on the eye.

  2. Kara had growing pains, but if they had planned to go back to 3 or even 4, why get rid of her and be left with only 1? auditions are starting soon and it seems a bit rash.

    alot of americans didn’t like kara but did/do simon and ellen, so this is their way of trying to hold onto that audience i reckon.

  3. I generally liked Kara.

    I have to say I admire randy jackson. He seems to know he’s got a good thing with Idol, no one was looking for him before hand and to not rock the boat. Like yeah he’s fine, but not irreplacable like Simon and he sure as hell seems to know it.

    Paula didn’t, and that’s why she went.

    Kara, yeah I don’t know, i’m thinking they will go back to 3 Judges and so that’s what happened to her.

    They should also keep up guest judging, people like Neil Patrick Harris and Katie Perry were great! Inf fact just add them to the show!

    Randy, JLo and ???? Neither of them would be good as a main person, so it’s still the replacing Simon issue.

    Oh and Ellen, no way she left on her own or if so it was pre-emptive of being canned. You could tell last season she thought she was the star of the show and the reports of her Diva demands backstage, about things such as how Simon had a bigger dressing room ect. Yeah I don’t buy her reason one bit.

  5. Idol ain’t dead yet. Kara was at least in the industry. Ellen was a bad choice. They went for ratings with her not someone who was experienced in the biz. What exactly has Jo Lo done lately-not much. One thing is for sure they need to have some high calibre talent for judges next season.

  6. Nah JLO on the show would make the raitings go through the roof.

    They need a singer on the show who is still up to day with the latest singing trends and no Paula Abdul who was famous in the 80s i mean…get with the times.

    And the show still produces some amazing artists. Look at Adam Lambert.

    How well is he doing in Australia? I mean without idol he would not have made it in the music business
