Myles Barlow: “Killing Kyle Sandilands”

"It's a notion that's entered all of our minds at one point," says critic 'Myles Barlow' in this week's ABC2 satire.

“It’s a notion that’s entered all of our minds at one point,” says critic Myles Barlow -killing Kyle Sandilands.

And the concept comprises one of the three segments in tomorrow night’s episode of the ABC2 satire, Review with Myles Barlow.

Barlow (played by writer / performer Phil Lloyd) sets about practising ways to “kill” the outspoken TV and radio personality, making use of a knife, fire and even a gun. He commandeers ‘lookalike’ friend, actor Anthony Hayes (pictured, right) to help him rehearse the deed before eventually approaching Sandiland’s Austereo radio station.

Sandilands is glimpsed briefly… did he agree to it? Who knows. That’s the style of the show.

Barlow also critiques “Fear” and “Racism,” including a scene that looks to be straight out of the Cronulla riots.

It airs at 9:45pm Thursday on ABC2.

NB: Do not attempt this at home…

  1. The first episode back wasn’t great, but last week’s was very entertaining – I’m hoping that tomorrow’s Sandilandicide continues that fine form. Review is hands down the best comedy that Australia is producing at the moment.

  2. Hello? Myles Barlow *is* bad taste satire.

Can’t wait for this episode. I’m actually surprised that they were allowed to get away with pulling off something like this. =O

  3. @Nathan: I assume that when you say that you have never heard anything so stupid in your life, that you are referring to Mr Sandilands during one of his many gaffes.

Poor taste maybe, but Sandilands is merely having some of what he dishes out returned to him. If you have seen the show (Review) you’d understand from it’s tone that this is completely non-threatening and really a non-issue.
