WIN WA and Nine Perth News Director Adrian Beattie has announced his resignation.

WIN WA and Nine Perth News Director Adrian Beattie has announced his resignation.

“I’ve had a tremendous three years with WIN Television and it is now time to move on and face new challenges,” Beattie said. “The employees of Nine News and WIN News are some of the best I have worked with. I leave knowing I have made many friends in the industry and I’m grateful for their support.”

Ian McRae, General Manager of Channel Nine Perth said, “Adrian has made a very significant contribution to all of our news-based programs in his role as News Director, and the staff and management wish him well with his future endeavours.”

Deputy News Director Michael Thomson will step into the role of News Director effectively immediately.

A replacement is yet to be announced.

  1. Nine Perth is an absolute basket case. That is where anyone with no talent goes too or they use their media contacts to find better pastures. . There station news promos are terriable trying to act that they are first with all the so called news stories. Declan Kelly got what he deserved with the way he treated staff at the radio stations over the years with sackings.

  2. Well coincidentally Declan Kelly has just been sacked from his job as General Manager at Perth’s 96fm and 6PR radio station… Could we speculate that Adrian sees a career opportunity there?

  3. Adrian Beattie was also a reporter for many years at Nine Perth when Sunraysia owned them before 2007. National viewers might remember him as the Nine reporter with the Scottish accent.

    With the long-established obsession people in WA seem to have with both Seven & GWN News, the question must be: Was he pushed?
