TEN throws down the gauntlet to rival networks by fastracking Glee just hours after it returns in the US.

TEN is fastracking new seasons of Glee and House.

Both will now air on Wednesdays, beginning September 22nd.

Glee airs at 7:30pm followed by House at 8:30pm -a promotion from its former 9:30pm Sunday timeslot.

TEN’s fastracking of Glee throws down the gauntlet to rival networks -it will air on September 21 in the US. Discounting the dateline, TEN airs the show just hours after the US.

In another fastracking move, House premieres in the US on September 20.

Both shows are expected to be paused during two weeks of the Commonwealth Games coverage, however this is yet to be confirmed.

  1. I’m adding to the chorus (pun intended) for the Glee fasttrack! I have sought the last season from ‘other’ locations because Ten was too slow, but now I will support Ten by watching on the actual TV.

  3. When will Ten finish screening the 21st and current season of The Simpsons though? Episodes 18 and 19 will be shown on the next two Wednesdays (September 8 and 15) before The Simpsons makes way for Glee.

  4. Fast tracking has ruined australian television’s seasons. It used to be that shows from the US, which aired after their summer break in sept, aired before ours in feb. Allowing australians’ a consistent and uninterrupted screening of tv series. Now days, thanks to illegal downloading, aussie tv networks are forced to air shows no later than a week after their US screening. Which means we get all these annoying mid-season breaks, and shows airing during our off-peak summer season, when people are less concerned with tv, and more with holidaying, family etc.

  8. Don’t watch either show but it’s good news all the same. Hopefully this is indicative of a change in mindset with regard to getting shows on air with minimal lag.

  9. It continues to surprise me that Ten keep trying with House; I hope it starts rating again for them!

    Wow Glee Go Ten! I don’t even think I’ll have time to grab it alternatively with it airing pretty much the same time as the US! And I don’t watch anything Wednesday nights except Gruen Transfer so perfect timeslot for me!! I’m in!

  10. Very good news. Can’t wait for Glee and might watch House being at good time slot but will ten fasttrack Merlin because that starts september 11 in the u.k.?

  13. Great move by ten. I think House will do well out of glee, alot of peoe said house and svu should of been swapped wen glee was on earlier this year due to the demos both shows attract. Maybe go undercover boss aus leading into rush?

  14. If i had a hat I’d take it off too 🙂 Seriously very happy to see House fast tracked really looking forward to the new season especially now that House and Cuddy are together. New time slot is awesome too Wednesday 8.30 is perfect and much better then late Sunday night. Hopefully 7/9 will fast track Bones,Castle,The Mentalist and CSI.

  17. The two big surprises are Glee moving from Thursdays to Wednesdays (meaning Bondi Vet and Recruits will continue in their current timeslots), and House returning to the timeslot where it used to dominate a few years ago. Still, fasttracking of both shows are welcome.

  19. Hmm not sure if House will rate that well after Glee. Although it’s much better then the 9.30 Sunday timeslot it was in previously.
    But it’s good that they are being ‘fast tracked’.

  20. Hopefully Season Two of Glee will be good… And hopefully more consistent than last season!
    Definitely looking forward to House, and I’m glad Ten’s giving it a chance at an earlier time slot. It may not have the same popularity that it had in the past, but it’s still top drama.

  21. surprised house is returning to that slot. it was down as low as 500k’s earlier ths year i thought it’s future would be on eleven. definately not a 8:30 slot i wonder if they are going to attempt a full scale relunch?

    another new slot for glee? so it’s been Thurs 7:30, Sun 7:30, Thurs 8:00 now Wed 7:30. a lot of movement for a show that is just about to start it’s second season but it’s good that they are fasttracking it so fast. i woner why they aren’t putting it Thurs 7:30? Rush could really do with a good leadin.

  24. Hats off to Ten – this is awesome news. Honestly I was happy waiting a couple of weeks, but I knew plenty of folks who were still downloading Glee because they just couldn’t wait. This stuff isn’t even going to reach the net in those few hours – well done Ten! Hopefully we see more networks following suit; this is how you tackle people heading online for their entertainment.
