The Ellen DeGeneres Show returns with new episodes from midday next Tuesday on Nine, celebrating the MTV Video Music Awards, which air in Australia on MTV on Monday afternoon.

Ellen will be joined by some of music’s hottest acts as she broadcasts backstage at the MTV Video Music Awards, including Justin Timberlake, pop sensation Katy Perry, teen heartthrob Justin Bieber and hip-hop artist Usher. There will also be some surprise appearances that viewers won’t want to miss.

Later in the week she heads to the Big Apple to catch September’s hottest events. She will be centre court at the US Open with the top tennis players, hitting the runway at New York’s Fashion Week, and making her Broadway debut in a Tony Award-winning musical. Plus, you never know what’s going to happen when Ellen hits the streets of New York City.

Ellen’s premiere week will also include appearances from the actor, writer and director Ben Affleck, the Emmy Award winner Jane Lynch (who won it for her role as Sue Sylvester on Glee), and Parenthood star Lauren Graham. Child stars and twin moguls Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will also make their first appearance on the show to talk about their new fashion line.

The music will come from chart-topping artists Usher, who will perform DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love Again, Mike Posner with his number one hit Cooler Than Me, and Daughtry singing September.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show is fresh from winning the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show. The program has now earned an impressive total of 31 Daytime Emmy Awards.

The show also airs in Australia at 11am on Arena.

  1. Stan – I wish my local network *would* repeat it late at night, as I’m not home during the day to watch it! I miss the repeats – I used to watch them daily.

  2. Yay! Good to have it back. Though its a shame it clashes with Martha on 7TWO. It’s a pity that they can’t repeat the shows later at night or show them on the weekend.

@Aimee Eddie I know! I was hoping that, but they didn’t do it last year. I really wish that they would just put it on GO! when the cricket is on or like I was saying in my first paragraph repeat it on GO! late night maybe 10:30pm or 11:30pm?

  3. Yeah, I was told Foxtel has managed to get the equipment just in time for the first episode on Tuesday.
Good thing too – Arena shows it before Channel 9 does and now they’re doing a repeat at 6pm, so I can watch it after work.
