One of Emmy‘s upsets this week was Top Chef snatching the Reality (Competition) prize from perennial winner The Amazing Race.
After all, the latter has won for the last seven years.
Top Chef’s host, Padma Lakshmi told reporters how she had strutted up to Phil Keoghan earlier in the night on the red carpet and said she was “taking him down”. “And guess what? I was right,” she told the backstage press.
Top Chef’s production partner Jane Lipsit, who has sat in the audience the previous years as The Amazing Race won, opted not to make the trip this year. Ooops.
If you want to see what all the fuss is about, the seventh season features 17 contestants in Washington D.C.
It premieres on Arena on Sunday September 12 at 6.30pm.

This is an awesome show and cant wait for the premiere but why Sunday?
Would love seeing an Aussie version of it. I am surprised that Seven in particular have picked up so many cooking shows for next year but Top Chef isnt one of them. I think this is the best cooking format show out there.
One of the best reality shows on TV. I would love to see an Australian version
A gorgeous host + professional contestants (these are no amateurs!) + interesting challenges (using geoduck, black chicken, etc.) + great looking food + high profile guests (one episode of Top Chef Masters cooked for the cast of Modern Family) = best cooking show on TV.
An enjoyable show, this. And, rare for this type of show, the winner is usually deserving.
