More on that Shane Warne series being developed by Nine…..
To be called Warne’s World, the chat show is scheduled to air on Thursdays at 9.30pm once the Ashes series kicks off next month.
“We’ve secured two or three big-name guests at this stage so things are going well,” Warne said.
The hunt is on for potential co-hosts. It will also feature a slew of international mates.
A production source said, “Warnie knows so many people – there are many closet cricket fans out there – so we’re expecting anyone who’s in town, whether it be a superstar singer or a Hollywood actor, to be called on by Shane.”
Could it possibly work as a summer cricketing counterpart to The Footy Show?
Warne also appears on this week’s Top Gear Australia, the show he was heavily rumoured to be hosting.

Is this replacing Cops Lack? Or is it just replacing it once the season is finished?
I’ll only watch it if Garth makes a comeback.
Ed – it’s called Inside Cricket on FOX Sports, and it’s great…. 🙂
I always thought some sort of cricketing panel show could work in the summer months, but I don’t know if this is it.
The sad thing is, this will probably rate in Melbourne. I love cricket, and Warne is an all time great – but I really hate to think what he might bring to a chat show. Probably the same as Sam Newman bring to The Footy Show; so, yes, it will rate well.
I would normally write this off as a 3week show but after Matthew Johns show lasting a year all bets are off.
Although I do like Warnie, I reckon this will be train-wreck TV … hope it works for him, but I can imagine it not rating well. Worth a watch just for a laugh I reckon 🙂
Oh Lord, “Warnie” on our TV screens? Hasn’t this try-hard hasbeen been put out to pasture yet?
It’s kind of embarrassing highly paid network execs think this is entertainment.
Warnie interviews his mates – expect hard hitting questions such as ‘what’s the name of your dog’ etc
oooh so its a comedy then?
That makes it an easy decision on Thursday nights then, any network other than 9.
Ill give it 4 shows…and a slow death (aka maybe a farewell special after the 4..) so 5 in total!
