Gone: Rizzoli & Isles. Bumped: Southland.

GEM! has dropped Rizzoli & Isles and pushed back the start for Southland.

Honestly what’s the point?

GEM! has dropped Rizzoli & Isles from schedule tonight, replaced by Movie: The Fugitive.

Southland, which was set for 10:30pm, is now starting at 11:15pm.

Law and Order is also out.

  1. Well, I can’t say I am shocked. I have gotten to the point now that I never get excited about a show that has been purchased by Nine. Why bother when there is a near-concrete guarantee that you will see one or two episodes before the program is ‘put on hold’, then transfered to a new time slot, then moved again only to air in repeats? Whenever I read about an interesting program coming up on Nine, I look to online previews and then, if I like it, buy the DVD. And programming manager wo/man, That is why you are last in the ratings.

  2. Rizzoli & Isles is now no longer in the EPG for next Monday.

Also it appears The Big C and Weeds have been axed as of tonight and they only had three weeks to go.

Nine should Never have purchased these shows if they were only going to do this. They should have aired on Foxtel on Showcase where they would have been treated with respect and aired the entire way through …..

  3. As an avid Southland fan I’m bitterly disappointed because I’m scared for its survival after this move. If they’d dropped R&I to put Southland on an hour earlier then I could have seen some sense in it. But to put The Fugitive on and put Southland back is ridiculous.

Southland is a great show. I started watching it 2 years ago in the states and I’ve been anxiously awaiting it’s arrival on our shores and now it’s on so late that no one (except people like me) will make the effort to watch it.

New, exceptional drama showing at 11:15? What are the programming monkeys at Nine/GEM thinking? They must be closely related to those at NBC who first screwed over this show.

Give it a go in a decent time slot and see what it can do.

  4. Why Nine and their channels always show one episode, then drop it from its schedules? Tonight’s R&I was aired in the US back in July, so it is Nine’s fault they have dropped it since the episode was shown five months ago, so it’s really not the US channel’s fault. David, will R&I will be back next week or is it going to be gone indefinitely?

  5. So over nine entertainment company what a joke really enjoyed this show and southland deserve better time slots when will nine learn why their losing the ratings is because viewers can’t rely on start times and back to back episodes in the right order DVDs are the future and nine can go jump

  6. Why, why, why? Wasn’t it Rizzoli & Isles 1st episode???? I don’t understand the logic from these programmers. Give the show a chance! It’s only GEM for god’s sake and the non-rating period.

  7. Here we go again. Is GEM just showing contempt for the viewer, or are they trying to drag the show out, or are they just going to stop showing it all together? Frustrating.

  8. that’s just crap! Finally we get more stations and they lead us to believe that they’ll give us more options in shows instead of re-runs of every other stupid thing! I’m so cranky! I was really liking this show, Angieis such a great actor and had missed her since Womens Murder Club. If the new HD stations keep swapping and changing like the normal stations, how are they expecting to get a solid following??

  9. Yes, what is the point.??? I love the ABC because, To The Manor Bowen aside, I can programme my DVR to record things every week at the same time, ad infinitum. I was thinking I might like R&I, but now I will never know. No wonder there is no viewer loyalty. There is no broadcaster loyalty.
