Matthew Newton continues ongoing rehab

Lawyers for Matthew Newton yesterday released a statement on his behalf, following his recent exit from Sydney’s Northside West Clinic.

“For the last five months I have been receiving full-time care and treatment for what specialists recently determined was a long-term and undiagnosed ailment,” it said.

“The details of the ailment are at this stage a personal and private matter. Although I have now left the Northside West Clinic I am continuing with on-going treatment and will be for the foreseeable future.”

Newton thanked friends, family and members of the public for support but asked media to respect privacy.

Newspapers recently reported his Sydney movements in considerable detail.
