Channel Nine has picked CBS sitcom Mad Love, which centres around four twentysomething New Yorkers searching for love. Two fall in love, but two despise each other.
It stars Sarah Chalke (Scrubs), Tyler Labine (Reaper), Jason Biggs (American Pie) and Judy Greer (Love & Other Drugs).
Pamela Fryman (Two and a Half Men) directed the pilot.
Fittingly, the series premieres in the US on Valentine’s Day,
February 14th. No word yet for Australia.

What an original concept. I can hear the laugh track already chittering far off in the distance. Best left on 9, the home of Big Bang, 2.5 men and other assorted dire US couch sitcoms that so many people find funny. Why? I’ll never know. One only has to watch the youtube clips of 2.5 Men and Big Bang with their laugh track removed to realise what lazy and awfully unfunny writing it is.
Great Friends 2.0 . OOOO that’s right friends had a cast of 6…This is totally different.
I thought Love Bites had a launch date of Feb 11, just days before this show? I’ll have to check in to this… I know it was cut from 13 to 9 eps, which is never a good sign.
Probably will treat this as badly as Better with You, axed after two weeks. Are they ever going to bring it back? it was way more appealing than the other new sitcoms they have slated.
Okay, 9 really need to establish a 2 hour comedy block now.
Why do I have a feeling this will be like How I Met Your Mother in quality, but will be treated like crap by Nine ending up with late night episodes on either GO or GEM in the first month?
@Craig, love bites is not in production yet, word is its axed.
Judy Greer – aka Kitty from Arrested Development!
Judy Greer is an interesting actress – her guest spots on Modern Family and 2.5 men among others reveal her to be a fine comic actress. She pops up in the Hathaway/Gyllenhaal movie too. Sarah Chalke i think has been too familiar in Scrubs to be already easily accepted in another sitcom – but i will giveit a go. I liked her initially, but her one style of acting (or Scrubs’s rhythm) gives her a two dimensional quality, for me, anyway. Could be worth a look.
Worse news all day! They’ll air 2 shows then replace it with 2.5 men re-runs, mark my words!
Any news on the NBC show Love Bites? and no its not about vampires!
