Screen actress Anne Francis, best known for her role in the sci fi film Forbidden Planet, has died aged 80.
Francis also starred in 1960s television series Honey West (pictured), for which she received an Emmy nomination and a Golden Globe win.
Honey West lasted only one season from 1965-66. But the character she played, a private detective who was sexy, stylish and as good with martial arts as she was with a gun, made an impression.
Her films included Blackboard Jungle, Bad Day at Black Rock , A Lion Is in the Streets and Hook, Line and Sinker.
Her TV roles included Mission: Impossible, Gunsmoke, The Twilight Zone, My Three Sons, Ironside, Charlie’s Angels, The Golden Girls, Home Improvement and Nash Bridges.
