2011: 100 Days Of Disaster update

TEN has rescheduled its special 2011: 100 Days Of Disaster, to be hosted by Dr. Andrew Rochford.

TEN has rescheduled its special 2011: 100 Days Of Disaster, due to air next Monday night at 7:30pm.

2011 has been plagued with floods, cyclones, earthquakes, a tsunami and now the threat of a nuclear meltdown. Join Dr Andrew Rochford as we explore a deeper meaning and ask is the worst yet to come?

I must admit this one doesn’t fill me with much enthusiasm. I’m in “Disaster Fatigue” mode and I suspect a lot of others viewers may be too.

I’m also not so sure whether a doctor is really the right choice to present this, unless of course it’s about the health and mental issues that have emerged. I reckon a Weather Channel special from Dick Whitaker might have been a better fit to tackle this topic.

The show will fill the vacant hole left by Glee given there are no new episodes to screen yet.

  1. Just found a facebook page that is dedicated to discussions on “the end of days” this is the url, could be interesting to see what a large range of different people think on the topic. facebook.com/pages/Is-our-time-up-in-2012/215047801855260#!/pages/Is-our-time-up-in-2012/215047801855260

  2. Who do you believe! What are we supposed to believe! :-/ After watching the special last night (missed the last 20mins of it though) I find myself asking these questions, and I’m left with the sinking feeling of – How am I going to save my family!!! The believers stated their case well as did the skeptics. I do believe the Mayan calendar’s reference to 21/12/2012 that the earth as we currently know it will change. Astronomers has also confirmed, planet aligments etc. and yes large solar flares will errupt from the Sun on that date. A solar flare errupted only a couple of weeks go – this is obviously a phenomenon that happens occasionally. However, I don’t believe that what is to occur on 2012 will be of some sort of E.L.E., as I think some people believe will happen (like on the movie). The fact that the earth is changing is a given. Regardless, it’ll be interesting times indeed.

  3. Wow, some quite moronic comments coming from the people here. Is this a direct reflection of the entire population, or are the Morons who are fighting the spiritual evolution just always the ones to try and bring everyone else down? History seems that way.

Wasnt a bad show, certainly highlighted a few of the big issues unfolding at the moment. Was no mention of the Galactic Aligmnent though which was disappointing, no mention of Nibirru either, quite sad as it is going to severely upset things here on earth. Good to see they are showing these documentaries now, still 18 months away. Its going to be a big change, those who are yet to evolve will be looking like droopy eyed school children soon, looking for guidance and leadership as they’re material world crumbles. Good stuff chanel 10, wasnt quite truthful completely as you censored some of the biggest points, but still… you have more balls than channel 7.

  4. i really dobt know what to believe i have o be honest and say i am fearful though.. i have 4 young children.. it will happen one day but when?

  5. I don’t think that the world will end Dec 21 2012, however I do think we need to start thinking bout survival during unforeseen circumstances. Solar showers, porta toilets, canned food, water, batteries and a super dooper first aide kit, these are the most important things during an emergency. Humans are the most adaptable creatures on earth, we just deal with it. In1996 Victoria was with gas for a few weeks, 2011 QLD, NZ and Japan have been dealing with no electricity, no gas, no toilets and no wages. Our lessen is, look after each other so that someone might look after you.

  6. “What a bullshit rubbish show!!”

Couldn’t have said it better myself. It really is an impressive display of uncritical woo and crap rolled into one hour. I’ve yet to see a single critical voice that was on screen for longer than 5 seconds.

  7. I think it is both false and truth behind this show….if you think about it, thay are mostly right, bout the aztecs and the bible, but science dois doing all it can to see if, when and how it wold come. I would rather knowing bout this tha the government keeping it a secret, and it would also help me nderstand on how I can help others and live though this with my loved ones and the whole of Australia and the World……

  8. @ Mike S. Your strange logic is why so many people will perish in the next 18mths. Robert Bast is right, people would rather put their heads in the sand and keep Consuming and Spending than actually consider what emergency plan they can have in case of massive disasters.. most australians wouldnt survive a tsunmai here… they are all too stupid and would run to the beach to take photos… its time to wake up australia..

  9. im guessing its probably another attempt to whinge and try and convince us all that we are the sole cause of all the disasters in recent memory, propaghandist bollocks

  10. I don;t really give this bloke much respect as a doctor. Not since he started doing those tv ads. Sitting in a room with a teary eyed patient. who has (presumably ) just been told some bad news. Rabbiting on about how you must buy health insurance from this company.. I don’t know, playing on people fears isn’t something a doctor should be doing, not in this manner anyway.

  11. You would of thought TEN would use a news presenter to host this special. As much as l looking at hunky Andrew,l wont be watching this depressing special.
