Good news for comedy fans with NBC renewing three of its comedies, with one apiece for TEN, Nine and Seven.

The Office, Parks and Recreation and Community will all be returning for the 2011-12 US season.

The Office has been averaging 7.7 million viewers in seventh season. Steve Carell’s farewell episode is scheduled to air at the end of April, with Will Ferrell set to appear in a multi-episode guest arc.

Parks and Recreation is averaging 5.5 million viewers in its third season while Community has averaged 4.7 million viewers. That said, in the US the 18-49 demo takes precedence over total viewers.

With 30 Rock already announced for a return at NBC, this just leaves Outsourced and Perfect Couples still awaiting renewals.

  1. :) for the office
:( it will only go on for 1 or 2 seasons without Steve , unless they can pick the perfic replacement ( chalie sheen is out of work) just joking

  2. Hooray for Community!
I was worried about S3 happening, with the audience that low and NBC looking for savings – but thank heavens. I agree with Dave – easily the best comedy on at the moment.
And when I say ‘on’ I mean ‘on the intergoogles’… coz you will never see it on Go! Gggrrrr

  3. Excellent news about Community. Now we can all get together over a glass of Hemingway’s Lemonade and have what the young people these days call a ‘sausage fest’.

  4. I thought it probably would make a third season anyway, but it’s good to get confirmation of Community’s survival. That show’s really too damn good to lose – it’s easily the best comedy going.

  5. Are GO ever going to show season 2 of Community ?
They were flogging it to death in ads over summer but so far nothing. There’s been some ripper episodes in this season.
