“With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved comedy genius Ewen MacIntosh,” his management company posted on social media. “His family thank all who supported him, especially Willow Green Care Home. There will be a private cremation for family and close friends soon and a celebratory memorial later in the year.”

MacIntiosh featured in Ricky Gervais’ original U.K. series of The Office from 2001 to 2003. He later partnered up with Gervais in the final series of After Life, playing a man who had been barred from an all-you-can-eat restaurant.

Born in Wales, MacIntosh appeared in various shows on stage and screen, including Little Britain and the reality series Celebrity Come Dine with Me.

Gervais led tributes saying. “Extremely sad news. The very funny and very lovely Ewen Macintosh, known to many as ‘Big Keith’ from The Office, has passed away. An absolute original. RIP.”

  1. RIP Ewen “Big Keith” MacIntosh.

Love the OG Office, and the included clip is one of the funniest moments from the show. Brilliantly written with impeccable comic timing, and a rare moment where David Brent (Gervais) seems to be competent at his job and isn’t such an obnoxious, self-absorbed numpty. There are some very funny bloopers with MacIntosh and Martin Freeman as well.
