The Kennedys coming in May

Controversial 4 part miniseries The Kennedys will air on ABC1 in May.

The ABC has confirmed controversial miniseries The Kennedys will air in May.

The 4 part miniseries starring Katie Holmes as Jacqueline Kennedy and Greg Kinnear as John F. Kennedy was dropped by the History Channel in the US before it aired due to concerns over its accuracy.

Despite being knocked back by other US broadcasters it will now premiere on History in the UK on April 7 and in Canada on April 10. It has a red-carpet world premiere screening in the US today (March 28).

From the creator of the Emmy award winning 24, Joel Surnow, The Kennedys has become one of the most controversial mini series of the year.

Screening in Australia as a four episode miniseries (90 min episodes), The Kennedys uses public events as a background to tell the intimate story of this iconic family. The series is about epic achievements and private failures, about loyalty and love, resentment and betrayal, about people imbued with great gifts and burdened by great flaws, about success of Biblical proportions and tragedy worthy of the Greeks.

Also starring Tom Wilkinson, Barry Pepper and Diana Hardcastle.

An airdate is yet to be announced.

Sorry, but i wont be watching Joey Potter as Jackie Kennedy.

  2. I look forward to seeing this , the true reason they dropped this first time was they dont like getting dirt on any of there presidents , past or present.Greg Kinnear should make a good JFK.
