And the tacky billboard of the week goes to….
….The Walking Dead clumsily placed on the side of a funeral parlour home in Consett, County Durham, UK.
Stop giggling now. My bad.
A spokesman for the Co-operative Funeralcare told the Daily Mail: ‘It is disappointing that we were not consulted as this advert could cause unnecessary distress.
‘When the billboard site was erected, we were assured that no insensitive adverts would be featured.’
The company responsible, Clear Channel, has agreed the advert is inappropriate and an alternative has since been pasted in its place.
Awwwww…..

@francis – There’s a Hungry Jacks just down the road from me next door to a pet store. I do worry, sometimes, about just how fresh their meat is…..
I asked Foxtel about Walking Dead this week but nothing to report….
this is exactly like the sign my local fish ‘n’ chip shop put in their window saying ”Fresh Fish” when they are right next door to an aquarium…yeh i know where they get their fresh fish from now!!!
so wrong!!
LOL@SecretSquirrel…
I hear that it’s already been replaced. With a poster for Deadwood…
@Zigster, LMAO!!!! That’s gold!
Very unfortunate billboard placement, for sure, but I can’t help but think it was done on purpose.
LOL! i love it xD
It’s on failblog today. Genius marketing – they may have already replaced it but how much internet buzzes has it gotten! 🙂
I love it!
Next put a Two and a Half Men poster outside the Betty Ford Center!
Is there any news if it is going to screen in Australia or is it going straight to a DVD release?
Funny.
Love it!
Reminds of a story from many years ago when the film of “Watership Down” was released. A butcher shop next to a cinema in the UK, painted a sign on its window saying, “You’ve read the book. You’ve seen the movie. Now eat the cast.”
