The results are in on the Bogies -both of them- as run separately by the Sydney Morning Herald website and the Daily Telegraph.
Both ran reader polls on the worst in telly in the lead up to TV’s night of nights.
David Dale’s SMH Bogies have awarded:
Most blatant ripoff of another station’s hit: Iron Chef Australia 2; Customs 3; Sunday Night 4; and the winner, with 19, is My Kitchen Rules.
Most unnecessary personal opinions during a supposed news show (The anti-Dibble Award): Andrew O’Keefe 3; Virginia Trioli 7; and the winner, with 18, is David Koch.
The Black Bogie: Ever since we launched The Bogies, in 2007, this award has been taken out by Kyle Sandilands. This year the voting was tight, and ended up like this: Eddie McGuire 4; Shane Warne 4; David Koch 6; Kyle Sandilands 9. But the Edward McGuire Chalice for 2011, with 11 votes, goes to Richard Wilkins.
You can read the rest of the “winners” here.
Meanwhile the Bogies at the Daily Telegraph also awarded their prizes yesterday:
WORST ACTRESS:
Kate Ritchie, Cops LAC
WORST ACTOR:
Blair McDonough, Winners and Losers
MOST UNCONVINCING NEWSREADER:
Leila McKinnon
You can read the rest here.
Next year can we just have one Bogies please guys?

Yeah if your in the entertainment industry you need to be prepaired for criticism and people giving you rubbish and paying u out and saying how bad you are and stuff like that im sure to all of them its water of a ducks back. U have to think at least they have the courage and bravery and guts to have a go at that stuff.
no home and away actors for worst actor/ what a joke. too be honest they could have given the whole cast that gong
Cops may have been a stinker, but I think Kate’s win is a bit harsh. Can’t disagree with the others.
The tele’s ones are wrong because it is supposed to be for actors, shows etc from 2010. Winners and Losers is a 2011 show *rolls eyes*
Meh at that Leila McKinnon one. Janice Peterson from SBS has never gotten through a telecast without stumbling.
The Equity Awards have also been announced with Rake winning best drama & The Librarians best comedy.
Deserving winners all. Is there anybody out there who actually likes either Koch or Wilkins? And if so, why? Especially Koch – how the smeg did such an (imo)uninteresting, unattractive, clueless man ever get an on-air role?
On another tack, while I don’t agree with everything David writes, he unfailingly finds outstanding photos to accompany his articles. In the above photo Wilkins looks like he’s gone to the ‘dark side’ and is about to fire up a lightsabre and do evil deeds!
LOL @ Leila McKinnon
Isn’t she the stand in for Tracey when she’s on holidays from ACA? Also tipped to replace her when Tracey finally moves on?
I always knew nobody read the SMH.
Richard Wilkins is the like the pin up boy for the decrepit, stifling, backwards mentality of Channel Nine.
Link now fixed.
Hi David, the link to SMH bogies does not work – i get page not found error…but tele link works ok.
I’m glad my vote for the Bogie, Richard Wilkins, won!! His entertainment reporting is always a bit of a joke.
The Daily Telegraph awards had been renamed “Worst in Television” when I was reading the website very early this morning, and yes, it’s still the same. A victory for Tribal Mind!
Lol for Koch. He and the Sunrise Brady Bunch are the worst and most self-centred people on the planet.
The Tele’s survey, by name at least, is obviously a ripoff, but can we really take the SMH version seriously!? Come on – 11 votes to win a category??? Look through the awards and it seems like there were about 40 people voting, max. If a paper ever tried publishing results from a survey of just 40 people on any other subject it’d be laughed out of town. I don’t think theirs reflects the people – just a tiny group of abc-loving single-demographics who follow David Dale’s blog
[ insert mandatory joke about Richard “Jeff Goldblum’s dead” Wilkins here 🙂 ]
David – your first link in your article hasn’t linked properly 🙁
