  3. Have to agree these clips show nothing was missed by it being axed. And though they always push the boundaries, they just judged the tone completely wrong with these.

  6. Only remotely funny one was the palace guard, the war and earthquae distatestful, and the rest just really not funny! Big fan of their early work but yeah cant help but think their comedy has just been lost..

    I’ve gotta admit, I generally don’t mind The Chaser boys..(although I did feel that the last series wasn’t their best work)…but ‘this’ stuff just isn’t funny. The guard sketch looks like something that ‘The Goodies’ were doing 35 years ago..

  13. Wow – I too was disappointed by the decision not to allow The Chaser to commentate the wedding, but after seeing these clips I realise I didn’t miss much. Not a single laugh in any of them…they’ve definitely peaked.

    On another note, I was impressed by The Circle’s post-wedding coverage. Funny, casual, natural, unassuming, Australian – all good! And I’m a bloke who usually abhors daytime telly. I reckon they’d be great value in more frequent specials covering big events.

  14. Chaser’s at their finest, I laughed once at the horse painted with the Union Jack (horses are funny).
    Couldn’t even bring myself to watch the Elton John clip.
    Hope ABC didn’t pay them to make those 1st year media studies sketches?

  15. The problem is they seem to oversaturate themselves into every performance to the point thats not funny

    Only Chris Taylor and Andrew Hansen are everyone in that clip. They will also do the same fake British accent to the point thats not funny

  16. I wonder which of the clips was leaked to Clarence House to get them banned?
    4/1 it was the Consummation clip… they’re very protective of their trade secrets.

  17. I gave up after the first four – not one of them gave me a laugh. I think these guys are becoming more and more tasteless and less and less funny as time goes on. Maybe the Palace was right???????

  22. Thanks for posting these clips David,it’s great to see what we missed out on,my favourite was the fourth clip which featured Japanese earthquake victims and the Libyan fighters. So funny.

  24. excellent stuff from the Chasr as usual, not only funny but also some things to think about, World Wedding Fever making a good point, to say nothing of the general point about the general lack of comedy around the World Wedding, bravo to the Chaser.

  25. Although I’m a big fan of the Chaser boys, and think its an absolute crock their show was pulled, after seeing those clips, I think Prince Williams goons may have been doing them a favour … didn’t really find any of them really funny :/

    Then again, maybe they were relying on taking the piss out of the ceremony as it happened … hope that was the case.
