  1. Karl looked like he was at a Funeral.
    Dame Edna was awful.
Tracy Grimshaw & Ita Buttrose were awful.
Didn’t even bother looking at 7 or 10.
Not a good look at all.

I watched the ABC as they took the BBC feed & I LOVED it.
The Beeb will never let you down on special occasions like this, they are very trustworthy.

  2. Seven did a great job! The UK commentators were classy and even though I love Aussie humour, it was nice hearing a serious commentary for a change. The crowd scenes were absolutely amazing! So much for the monarchy being a dying insitution! It will be fascinating to see the combined audience figures across all channels tomorrow – individually, they won’t break any records, but in terms of the total audience, it will be absolutely massive.

  3. I think it’s disrespectful that Karl couldn’t keep proper attire on throughout entire broadcast. Casual is good at the cricket but as the face of the channel nine team due respect should have been shown.

  4. @ Secret Squirrel. ABC now has repeats of The Chaser’s War on everything! That’s a right royal rub in! How dare they rub it in! They lost the rights to the Chasers Wedding, so find another alternative please!

I did see everybody loves raymond had the episode where the Barrones’ meet Debra’s parents. Very royal when you consider a French restaurant and silver service!

I’m not sure if GEM is HD. I couldn’t tell the difference and my TV is HD! Even the Possums on there looked the same!

  5. I thought 7 did the best job – using the UK feed. Good thinking – instead of having Aussies commentate it and ruin it. Gave Dame Edna two mins before turning over – be interesting if this proves a ratings downfall.

  6. I reckon they should had said it will be a private chapel service! That would have really annoyed the media, especially the so called Royal Commentators. Wish I good get that gig all you do is crap on and dribble about nothing. I was flicking through, I had to laugh with 7 having a promo For Australia Got Talent during a hymn. Thought they would fill in the bottom screen with constantly running promos for shows. Fitzy and Wippia wish I got a free trip to Uk to dribble on about nothing, like ” I bet u there are lots of Aussies in the crowd”. If I was Kerry Packer I would have had it sponsored by an advertiser and ran lots of ads of 30 seconds through, reckon it would have been a cash cow!

  7. I’m surprised that all the commercial networks are showing it. Wouldn’t that just dilute the audience as not everybody will want to watch it. I always watch special events at the ABC – commercial free and high quality. I’m not watching it but was tempted to choosing instead to watch the footy.

  8. Can’t believe Chanel 7 just played ITV’s feed with no commentary of their own, so changed to Chanel 9 who cut the broadcast at about 8.35pm to show football in NSW & QLD. Do both these Networks not know this is one of the biggest events of this decade? Trying my luck with good old ABC now.

  9. Great coverage. Whether you support thr royals or not. Good on them. Shame that the sound could not be in time with the video though…………..

  10. So on ch 10 if 7pm project is on before the ceremony and the circle is on after and they are both broadcast out of the same studio, does that mean they’ll have to turn the sets around live in 1 hour?
