GO! bites into Vampire Diaries schedule

More last minute changes at GO! that simply turns the channel into Channel Chuck Lorre.

GO! has just pulled The Vampire Diaries from view tonight, just hours before it is due to go to air.

It will be replaced by a repeat of the movie Bride Wars at 8:30pm.

It also drops The Middle from 8pm replaced with -you guessed it- another Big Bang Theory replay.

Channel Chuck Lorre already had 8 episodes of Two & a Half Men a week…

Between Nine and GO they now have 30 episodes a week of Two & A Half Men and The Big Bang Theory in prime time.

UPDATE: Vampire Diaries is now 11:50pm Sundays beginning May 15.

  1. this is so wrong. why would they take this show off which is soooooooo popular to play repeats. i have been so annoyed with the switching around of this show to different days and times. but 11.50 is just stupid. if you look at the fan sites for TVD you would see australians love the show and its not worth showing it if its going to on at midnight.

  2. wtmuthaf?

I was toast on Thurs and mega fega excited to watch VD and then I check the f***ing schedule via remote and what did GO do? Put some bridezilla shit on?

    Not happy Jan. smh

  3. Chuck Lorre must have interesting photos of someone very, very important at both Nein and GO! I can’t think of any other reason why his shows are the only ones they ever seem to play.

For the record i watched SevenTwo, they had a doco on the Opera House and then another on Ferrari. Far better than ‘Bride Wars’ or Eddie Everywhere.

  4. If the speculation is correct, it doesn’t make any sense to pull TVD from GO, just because Eddie Everywhere has yet another new show on the main channel. Anyone can see the demographics are poles apart. Fools! Anyway, last night my TV was tuned to ABC2’s excellent Thursday lineup. The new series of Peep Show is brilliant!

  5. So what makes it any different to when we only had the Commercial main channels before the digital channels

No different is it – pulling shows left right and centre

Why bother with the FTA give me Foxtel any day

  6. It’s also a completely fascinating non responsive route in terms of social media. As people have noted, the Facebook page of quite considerable numbers is currently going off with anger directed at the channel. To let this go completely unanswered is only further enraging the fans. The only justifiable excuse from Go! Would be a late classification issue from the board, and if that was mentioned people would be more forgiving but as it stands, we’re not far off pitchforks and bonfires.

Interesting too that a program aimed at such a tech savvy, release date focused and pirate ready age group is treated this way. My parents wouldn’t have a clue how to torrent, this demo, all over it.

  7. speculation on facebook is that GO! pulled it as Eddie McGuires new show was premiering at the same time on 9 – wouldn’t surprise me – not they need a reason to change their programming at the drop of a hat

  8. lets just keep some perspective on this….GO is run and programmed by a group of people who, when they were kids, were told they were special and could achieve anything they wanted to, despite their obvious and utter mediocrity. Roll the clock forward a few years and they are running a TV channel, that nobody bothers to watch…so like a spoilt petulant teenage brat they pull the shows that people like just to pi$$ them off and show them who is in charge. Welcome to the world of Channel 9/GO 2011.

  9. This was a bad move GO!, of all the shows you could screw around with, you chose The Vampire Diaries, which has a large following especially on your Facebook page. And then they wonder why shows don’t rate, hmmm? Look over at Eleven, every week, their schedule is the same and isn’t full of repititive rubbish! I can rest assured that Raising Hope will be on every Tuesday, because while it doesn’t get the best ratings, Eleven acknowledge that there are viewers that enjoy it and keep it on the air to please their viewers. The GO! programmers are absolute idiots, who couldn’t care less about what their viewers want. Pathetic!

  10. Why ??? It is really hard to follow this TV series because they keep changing the time slot each week !!!!! Grrr so frustrating, it’s really hard to be a regular viewer when they do that and I’m sure it is affecting the ratings.

  11. Why? Why? Why?

Why is Go doing all this as a viewer I personally am starting to get annoyed with Channel 9 and Go with all there programming schedules. I would bet I’m not the only one getting annoyed. These stations want the ratings then they should accomodate the viewers and stop chopping and changing programs.

Are they changing the day that the next episode will air?

  12. Not into the emo nu-vampire genre so it doesn’t affect me but this has got to be someone’s idea of a joke. It’s as if Nine/Go! are now just seeing how much they can stuff their schedule around and still have a few people tune in.

How much longer can this crazy behaviour continue at this ship of fools before someone starts kicking arses (properly)? Any other business the size of Nine would have taken corrective action to address their falling market share long before now. It’s almost as if Eddie was still the CEO.

  13. OMG!!! what the hell!!! its been on for two weeks and now its back off with no reason. they didnt even tell us that it was replaced it just said nothing! i turn on the tv and bride wars is on? what the hell go? at least inform your viwers and give a legitimate reason why a boring movie is replacing one of the hottest shows in the world! not happy! at this rate the dvd will be out before we see the season finale!
