Renewed: Bones

Updated: Bones has now been officially renewed by FOX.

US media have reported Bones has been renewed by FOX.

It follows star David Boreanaz tweeting news on Monday night.

Boreanaz tweeted: “Season 7 is GO for Bones.”

The news follows protracted negotiations on the show. Last month, showrunner Hart Hanson said that he was “confident” a deal would be reached for the show’s seventh season.

As to what’s in store for the next series, lead characters Booth and Brennan may finally become a full-fledged couple.

But it isn’t clear how the show will handle star Emily Deschanel’s pregnancy.

Update: Officially renewed. “Bones is creatively fresh, it’s a rock-solid player every time it airs and this season it has helped us win on Thursday nights for the first time in our history,” said Fox Broadcasting Company’s President of Entertainment, Kevin Reilly. “Hart Hanson and the fantastic cast and crew, as well as the millions of loyal Bones fans, make this show really special, and I’m excited to have it on our air for another stellar season.”

  1. Sunday night – 2 eps of Castle and no Bones this week. If 7 want us to keep watching shows on a regular basis, then maybe they need a new programming director.

  4. Brilliant news Bones is one of my favourite shows. Not sure about Booth/Bones but it had to happen eventually I guess. Perhaps better to leave them getting together until the final few eps of the series.

  6. With upfronts so close I’d say FOX were waiting for then to make an announcement. This is making the FOX upfronts a bit of a non event, the execs are probably angry at David Boreanaz for that tweet.

  7. Now this show sucks!!!!! i’d rather sit outside my house and watch the cars go past. Now thats way more entertaining than this junk show!!!!!!
