Can of Worms is adding live Twitter to its show tonight, after Twitter comments in the opening episode had been submitted to CoW several days earlier.

“We’re excited to announce Ep 2 will feature a mix of live Facebook and Twitter comments as well as our faves from the record and you can follow us at www.facebook.com/canofwormstv and @canofwormstv” says a statement.

The two topical “worms” tonight are:

Is a burqa out of place in Australia?
Do Australians swear too much?

Guests include:

#1 A television pioneer with the most famous beard in Australia: Don Burke.
#2 Mother, journalist and author: the lovely Jessica Rowe.
#3 Wunderkind and co-host of triple j breakfast: Tom Ballard!

It airs 8.30pm tonight on TEN.

  1. I thought that was so bad Don Burke getting into Jessica Rowe’s face and swearing as he did….
    How would he feel if someone got in his wife’s face and did the same ???
    Don I have little respect for you after this …I do not see any reason for this language
    I would never watch Don again…. have a bit of respect ….
    You will not get back on T.V. doing this …

    I don’t think objecting to the burqa makes one a racist at all. I object to teenage thugs of any race wearing hoodies, that doesn’t make me racist. I think it’s more an issue of inclusion and assimilation.

  5. Hmmm. Yeah I’ll watch coz of don burke. didnt get to c it last week (hello – swingtown!), but I’ll TiVo it n check it out to see if it’s settling in… Sometimes shows need a little time.

  6. Unlike last week, this week I find the guests interesting as well, particularly Jessica Rowe and Don Burke. It will be interesting to see how they answer the burqa question, I bet Jessica is good and won’t have a problem with it but I have a feeling Burke will be a bit racist. Time will tell.

    I just hope Zapruder bring their A-game to Gruen Planet.

  12. I think Burke will make the show interesting – he was always rumoured to be a bit stroppy and quite opinionated.

  14. I’m interested to know how Jessica Rowe is allowed to appear on a TEN program when she has a contract with Seven – aren’t they banned from appearing on rival networks? Especially given the drama surrounding Jessica’s departure from TEN?

  15. Don Burke is actually very good at topical stuff. He used to be a fill-in announcer on one of our talkback radio stations here in Sydney (2UE) and he is very knowledgeable on current events and is a good interviewer. I think he will surpise people tonight, he expresses topical opinion very well and is quite opinionated himself.
