Chooka voted out of Australia’s Got Talent

Talented self-taught pianist 'Chooka' Parker has missed out on a place in the grand final of Australia’s Got Talent.

Talented self-taught pianist ‘Chooka’ Parker has missed out on a place in the grand final of Australia’s Got Talent.

Five acts were voted into the two-part finale, last night.

The first three positions were decided on public vote – illusionist Cosentino, teenage vocalist Jack Vigden and opera singer David De Vito.

But remaining eliminations were left to the judges, Dannii Minogue, Kyle Sandilands and Brian McFadden.

Each judge voted for a different act, betweeen impersonator Ben Price, dance crew Instant Bun and Chooka Parker. That left the fourth position to be decided on audience vote, with comedian Ben Price winning out.

The fifth grand finalist was decided by judges with Instant Bun given a place over Parker.

Next Tuesday night, July 26, the final five acts to earn a shot at the title will be revealed before the Grand Final gets underway in a ten-act extravaganza. The winner of Australia’s Got Talent will then be announced in a Grand Final Decider on Tuesday August 2.

  1. I can not beleive chooka got voted out he has a rare talent which should be recognized by the world. I would also love to give chookas mum a big hug and congratualations on the way she has raised her children out of this crazy technal world . Congratulations mum, also chooka was the real Aussie deal isnt that important.

  2. My vote is for jack vidgen he is sensational and as the judges he is a superstar go jack you are brilliantHe does make you proud that we are Australian and we have such talented people in Australia

  3. this show is just “buisness” the more people to watch the better for the station just remember the voting tex charge! thats why you have already established artist earning good money like constantino on it the show would be pretty boring guys like him are the bait to make it more exciting and for you to watch and in return he gets advertising and exposure for his already astablished buisness.
    “wakeupaustralia”

  4. this iscrap, the only reason chooka got annoyed was the fact that brian mcfadden went into his green room before hand and led him to believe he made it. shame on you channel seven.
    yous are a disgrace.

  5. These reality shows prey on the naive and vulnerable. They hype up a talent and have them believing their own publicity and then turn on them once they have no use for them. Watch TT stick the knife in tonight.

Chooka gets 1.25 million youtube hits, intant bun 25,000 hits. Today Tonight featured him and his amazing life. This show hyped Chooka up, Today Tonight are already showing promos for tonights show about Chooka and that incident.. Seven have pumped Chooka up, got lots of mileage out of him and are now going to throw him on the scapheap. Don’t forget he is only a 16 year old country boy. Shame on you,Seven.

I wouldnt think that would be the case. If he did really impress the viewers, he would be in that position in the first place and would of made it to the finals. He is talented and he is a prodigy but compared to how everyone is lifted the bar, he remained at the same level.

Just because you have seen it doesnt mean the rest of Australia doesnt have an opportunity to? Doesnt matter if you are established or not – its about uncovering talent that should be recognised and be given the exposure they deserve.

It was a fair result – Instant Bun did have the better act. But not taking away from Chooka – absolutely amazing talent and i hope someone in the music industry pick him up so that he can compose songs and make a living out of it

  8. I am very suspicious of Chooka missing out. I think something is going on that we have not been told. Brian Mcfaddin said he was a prodigy, Chooka had Danni in tears and he was one of the 3 favourites and he had over 1 million youtube hits. I think Seven should be honest with their audience and tell us what really happened. I seen sunrise this morning and they reported an incident after the show but something must of happened before the show. He may not of won but he was a top 5.

  9. Interesting that of the 26 people in the remaining 15 acts only one is a woman. Australia doesn’t think woman have talent?

@Christopher, the show isn’t Australias Got Non-Profiting Talent. There has never been a rule against people using their talent professionally. I can’t see the problem with it if it means we get to see people like Consentino.

  10. Sorry forgot to add of course when its ratings its socks off channel 7 are going to extend it and I think this season there are way more talented people than other years.

  11. It should never have come down to the judges. Why do they get the public to vote if they are just going to let the judges (producers) decide on the last postion. Contestants like David DeVito and Cosentino already have well established showbiz careers, they are only there to get further exposure, and the prize obviously. I would like to see a young new talent win the show.

  12. Im not surprised. The Instant Bun guys were awesome last week and even though Chooka was great its just the same stuff on a keyboard. Im glad Ben got through, his voices that he does are great and he is funny.

But Grant mentioned on Sunrise on monday about someone crackng it and Grant was surprised by this persons behaviour and wouldnt say who it was but it was obvious last night when Chooka didnt get through.

  13. Interesting report on Sunrise this morning about Chooka losing the plot back stage after the announcement. Apparently he wrapped a jumper around his hand and started punching walls and windows. Pity it wasn’t caught on camera.

  14. This show has been dragged out incessantly. I would have had 4 quarter finals, two semi’s and a grand final.

It is getting confusing and tedious…

  15. You’re kidding!! I didn’t see the show, but of all people, Chooka should have made it into the final. He is a rare, virtuoso talent. Good heavens, I’m really shocked by that.

  16. Chooka was happy with his latest performance, but disappointed that some of it was cut.

What the hell is this ? You edit out part of the final performance of a competitor ?
Hard to believe that is fair and most certainly appears unethical. You have skewed the perception of people by diluting the quality of his performance. If this is not illegal it should be and there most certainly should be an investigation of some kind into this matter. I hope he sues your butts !

  17. No matter who got through I cannot understand that a full professional act like Consentino is still in the show. Sure he is good but he has been touring the country for years and making a very successful living out of it. Especially when at some venues including ours he charges up to 80 bucks a ticket. Just my opinion.

  18. Gotta say it was a fair result. He is obviously talented but what he does was already getting tiresome. My vote is for the young lad doing his own material.Reminds me of Josh Pyke (my fave Aus artist).I would buy his music.Love the “rocket” duo too, cool to watch.
