Channel [V] has announced Fuel TV presenter Carissa Walford, as a permanent channel host following the resignation of Kyle Linehan.

The 23 year old will team up with current hosts, Danny Clayton, Billy Russell and Jane Gazzo and make her debut on The Riff when it returns from a production break.

Walford been on FOX Sport’s Fuel TV for five years, presenting the Australian version of US comedy show Web Soup, before she flew to LA last year to fill in for Olivia Munn on Attack Of The Show.

“We are thrilled to welcome Carissa to the Channel [V] family,” said Shaun James, General Manager, XYZnetworks Music Channels.

“She joins us with a wealth of experience both in Australia and the US. Music is in her blood and we look forward to her debut with us on the 23rd.”

“I’m so pumped to start at XYZnetworks and get involved in everything that goes along with being a presenter at Channel [V]”, said Walford.

“I’m not looking forward to being the “new chick” and learning how to use a PC, but I guess I can deal with that since I’ll be getting to interview all the my fave fabulous musicians!”

Kyle Linehan finishes 2 years with Channel [V] on June 30th before beginning an overseas trip for 3 – 4 months.

Carissa Walford debuts on The Riff this Saturday 23 July at 10.30am.

  1. how much are these Gen yers’ geting paid to think the are (a) talented and (b) important ? $15 per hour ? they are hardly “hosts”. All they do is read an autocue !! FFS how hard is that ?

  2. this is exactly what the show needed- sounds like she is switched on and looks amazing…… Channel V is my Fav Channel in the world!!!!! Yess worldd!!!!!

  3. I’m old enough to remember when Channel V could keep a host (“VJ”) for more than five minutes.

Used to be a good channel when they had live bands on there but is just rubbish now. I still fondly remember The Mark of Cain doing a full set on the channel in 2001 and their V Music Bus shows with bands like Grinspoon & Shihad.

    Those were the days.
