Long-running animated series South Park has been renewed for two more seasons.

Long-running animated series South Park has been renewed for two more seasons.

Comedy Central confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that it has got the green light through to 2013, bringing it up to its 17th season.

The show will return for the second half of its 15th season in the US in October with seven new episodes.

Guess those “Oh My God They Killed South Park” headlines will have to wait.

  2. @tomothy: agreed, though that’s definitely due to Matt and Trey being busy from The Book of Mormon. They acknowledged the declining quality at least in the last episode before the break (through the characters in the show anyway). Interviews seem to suggest M&T hated being contracted to produce South Park eps as it was definitely taking its toll on them.

  3. Pass, in a way i would like the show to die, big fan of it and all, of prev seasons but i think the show has lost its way, id really love to see it end in a bang.. its really had its time. Another movie to cap it off would be great 🙂

  4. Of course I have not seen it as I live in Australia.

    However there was a bit of concern the next half of the current season would be the last after the mid season final.

    To be honest if it had been, given that mid season final as much as i would have been annoyed it was coming to an end, I would have understood and accepted it.

    So this is great news!

    Loved Matt and Trey addressing that on the daily show recently. How everyone was going, “omg are you alright” and they were just like,” yeah why? “

I have funny flashbacks reading the sign on Adelaide Buses about if your bank thinks Kill Kenny is something they do on South Park It’s time to Change Your Bank for the Adelaide Bank.It’s good it’s coming back though.I hope they have the decency to put it on a Monday Night though as there’s nothing really decent on these days anymore.Good News Week has gone to the scrapheap and over at 7 or 9 it doesn’t get much better
