Ok people, here’s the date you’ve been wanting….
Season 4 of True Blood will begin on Australian screens at 8:30pm Thursday, August 18 on showcase.
The bloody threat of Russell Edgington may have passed (at least for now), but a fresh pot of trouble is brewing for Sookie Stackhouse, Bill Compton, Eric Norseman and their Bon Temps allies in Season 4 of True Blood, the sexy, scary, wildly entertaining series from Oscar®- and Emmy®-winning Alan Ball.
Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humour, True Blood takes place in the not-too-distant future, when vampires have come out of the coffin, thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood that means they no longer need humans as a nutritional source.
The smash-hit HBO drama tells the continuing tale of Sookie (Anna Paquin), a human/fairy waitress with telepathic gifts – and a so-far irresistible attraction to 174-year-old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). Surrounded by familiar faces – including her brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten), shapeshifting boss Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell), soul-searching pal Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley), Tara’s cousin Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis); police chief Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer), vampire suitor Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) and teen vamp Jessica Deborah Ann Woll) – Sookie faces some new otherworldly threats this season.

Onya Freddy – isnt walking dead with FX which is yet to launch?
The quick and the dead huh?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, 🙂
Still, a lot better than the amount of time it took to air season 1 of ‘Walking Dead’…how long did that take again I forget????
And me being without foxtel probably won’t see it till the DVD in May next year, lucky I’ve already read the books.
Sorry but there’s no rationale to that Sav
Finally started watching this show from the beginning on FOX8 … Liking it a lot so far! Thank you FOX8 for re-airing it!
I think it has been said before, showtime in the US won’t let foxtel air true blood until it’s about 2 months after the US airdate
plain lazy really
About a month to late
I wasn’t planning on commenting but I think it’s only fair due to the amount of stick I give FTA networks about long lapse between US air dates and Aussie air dates.
I find this such a curious move considering how vocal Foxtel have been about Torchwood air dates etc, I suppose it might be different divisions handling this decision, but still, curious choice with shows that are as high profile as True Blood, why you would stall the air date for almost a month.
