Nine’s dating show The Farmer Wants a Wife was due to settle into its regular timeslot on Wednesday nights but Nine has now slated the series for 7:30pm Mondays.

This will see it take on The X Factor and The Renovators.

There seem to be a lot of switcheroos and red-herrings going on in Programming land right now, as networks get a look at what the opposition has planned.

Nine removes repeats of The Big Bang Theory to make way for the show. In its place on Wednesday is Same Name, the third show in the timeslot in as many weeks.

  2. Girls……….don’t apply for Farmer Wants a Wife if you haven’t checked the map to see where the farmers live. Don’t get all mushy with them and then kick them into touch and say “Oh you live too far away” etc etc. I enjoyed watching Farmer this time, but all the kissing, and tongueing made me squirm. Hope farmer Kev finds a special lady to share his life with. He got the bad end of the stick with his favourite leaving the farm. And Tenille should learn how to say “anything” instead of “anythink”.

  3. Lizzie so true how about the jodhpurs!! Eliza would be the better choice but alas BFG Will wasn’t thinking just looking….. Men!!! Sorry call me a cynic but can’t see it lasting long term! All the best Eliza, a truly genuine guy will be just around the corner! I lost my “Will” and found my “Johnny: best buddy I’ve ever had ! 16 years marriage and two beautiful kids later sooo glad! xx

  4. Great show, normally don’t like this stuff but was so much better than US shows if similar type. Sad about Farmer Kev but I am sure 9’s phones will be ringing off the hook to get in touch with him!! Bring him back next season!!! X Factor is crap some of the contestants aren’t as good as my local Kareoke at the pub!!

  5. I think model Samantha is out to get recognition not a farmer
    Looks like she comes from a well to do family.
    Did you notice the dinner set and the colour coordinated place mats?
    Can you see her on a farm ruining those fingernails and those perfect teeth?
    Where’s the next modelling job coming from?
    Samantha is high maintenance.
    Will, think with your head., not any other moving parts.
    Eliza is much more suitable and genuinely seems smitten with you.

  6. I enjoy a good comedy and figure if people want to put themselves on the screen then there is no doubt they get their 5 mins of desired fame and I get a good laugh. To be less sarcastic I would remind others that some of the participants have infact gone on to marry and start families….winners and grinners all ’round !

  7. Why sabotage a good family show ? Yes it’s a bit long winded and could move away from the American style of all the suspense and actually give us a full show not a quarter with far too many ads. Seems all the tv channels are interested in is cooking shows,renovating and repeats. Leave the good wholesome shows alone and bring on more real life type shows instead of sic fi and crim shows. Shame shame shame on you.

  8. Watched the first series with wifey…but cant stand it at all now. It is so staged is just sickening and awkward to watch. Even my wife wont watch it and she likes romance type shows. The format is just the same as all the other ‘reality’ which have no longer have any novelty value at all. Trying to make you wait over the ad break for something you don’t care about in any case. In this season the participants are morons and flat out trashy. It should be ‘loner wants a skank’.

  9. I don’t think it’s fair to the six girls that were chosen by our Farmer on the first night and then a seventh girl comes along being chosen by relatives. It tends to make the Farmer feel committed to choosing her as his third choice.

  11. Ive been watching this with my ladyfriend as its the penalty i have to pay for if i want tea and it is best suited to Wednesday Night , it will lose against the X Factor.
    Its a bit trashy and even though that woman looked great in the red dress , she wont look too sexy stomping through cow turds in her Monello Blahniks.
