Russell Armstrong, estranged husband of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Taylor Armstrong, has been found dead in his LA home. He was 47 years old.

Armstrong, who appeared in several episodes of the Reality series, is believed to have died from suicide.

His relationship with his wife was a big part of the show’s first season, seen accompanying Taylor Armstrong to various events. She often discussed the couple’s relationship troubles with the other housewives on the show.

In the opening episode of the second season, which was filmed months ago, Taylor Armstrong tells the other women that she and her husband are going to therapy. The couple’s relationship troubles were set to continue as part of the show’s second season.

Last month she also filed for divorce, alleging that Russell physically abused her. Russell Armstrong had not yet responded to her petition.

The couple were also sued last month for $US1.5 million ($A1.44 million) by a company that claims the pair diverted money from investors to promote their lavish lifestyle, including redecorating their mansion.

“All of us at Bravo are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Our sympathy and thoughts are with the Armstrong family at this difficult time,” a spokesperson for US network Bravo said.

Season Two of the Reality show is due to premiere in the US on September 5.
