  1. I thought that one of the reasons we have several versions of each of the free to air channels was to fit in special broadcasts. I really am not worried if channel 7 want to put the football (any code) on live television. My complaint is that the repeat of repeats were left undisturbed on the other channels while the football was on the main channel.
Why couldn’t either the football or BH&G be put onto one of the other ones? I know they weren’t because I looked, thinking that that would have been the most sensible thing to do.

  2. Can people stop referring to Aussie Rules as that ‘Victorian Game’. They don’t own the thing and last time I checked it was the number 1 sport in all states other than NSW and Qld. And Aussie Rules supporters should refrain from slagging off other sports like Rugby. Its pretty childish and who cares. Spread the love. Go Sydney.

  3. Ryano,

“Good move from 7. Hopefully it will be a close game and Sydney AFL fans tune into the live coverage. Might be hard to compete with the rugby but the game from the MCG will be a much better spectacle”

The correct terms are ‘Rugby League’ or ‘Rugby Union’ depending upon which sport is being played. But I guess you are a Victorian and a simple ‘rugby’ will suffice.

    Cretin !

  4. Your kididng me!!!!! I want to watch Home and Away not some imported Victorian rubbish!!!
I’m ringing 7 now to complain what an absolute disgrace why on earth would they put on a game that no one in Sydney cares about?????

  5. Good move 7. I only watch the occasional Swans match. Now they’re in the finals series, many more will be tuning in friday night to watch the game live. Go Bloods.

  6. Watched Swans last week for first time. Will do so again this week. Seems to be a much better game than NRL, but am still a novice. Why isnt this sports game popular in Sydney but everywhere else it seems to be?

  7. Syd 7:30pm
    Bris 10:30pm (7:30pm on 7mate)

Who cares if it don’t rate, good on Seven for showing it for those people who want to watch it.

But do you think Nine would play NRL at this hour on GEM or GO in Adelaide and non NRL states??? Nope.

  8. Good move from 7. Hopefully it will be a close game and Sydney AFL fans tune into the live coverage. Might be hard to compete with the rugby but the game from the MCG will be a much better spectacle!

  9. Hopefully Sydney AFL fans will watch in high numbers, it’s a big game but it has to compete with NRL. The MCG game will prove a much more exciting spectacle that’s for sure, game also live into Perth from 5.30pm local, very good to see!

  10. Wow…live AFL in Sydney, pretty rare! Hope it works for them, but I’m not sure they’ll get two many more eyeballs in Syd then if they put it live on 7mate.

I guess they’ll have to tell the Better Homes junkies to flick over to 7Two for lifestyle programming
