Chris Carter eyes a return to television

The X-Files creator, Chris Carter, is looking to return to television with a new mystery drama.

Now this is worth getting excited about.

The X-Files creator Chris Carter is looking to return to television as writer, director and executive producer of a new mystery drama.

The script, which has a supernatural element and features a female lead, is expected to start being pitched to networks in the next few weeks. The project is set up at Media Rights Capital which most recently sold the David Fincher / Kevin Spacey drama House Of Cards to Netflix with a two-season order.

Carter helmed The X Files from 1993 to 2002 and also wrote Millennium, which ran from 1996 to 1999.

There has also been talk of a third X-Files movie but like the catchphrase says, trust no-one until it’s actually before the cameras.

  1. @Mulder: Agree. I think the second movie was marketed horribly. People went in thinking one thing & got another. I myself got a pleasant surprise when i saw it, a couple of others i was with hated it.

  2. @ deedeedragons – I agree with you that some of the best episodes weren’t part of the alien storyline, I’m just tired of hearing the haters of the 2nd film because it had nothing to do with the little green men.
