Do or Die for ABC2

ABC2 has commissioned its first ever local factual series, in which office workers are thrown into a survival adventure.

ABC2 has commissioned its first ever local factual series, a 4 x 1hr series in which office workers are thrown into a survival adventure.

Do or Die will take a different workplace through ‘some of the most gruelling challenges in the harshest Australian environments. These office workers will be pushed to their physical and psychological limits.’

Apparently it’s all in the name of team building.

‘Can office politics be put aside when the boss is dangling off a cliff? Would you put your life in the hands of the office bully?’ the Press Release asks.

Hopefully they will all be made to wear office attire through the whole thing and look ridiculous too?

There have been a number of shows and movies with the same title, including a NZ factual about weight-loss, but this appears to be an original format.

ABC2 Controller Stuart Menzies said “Do or Die promises friction, deceit, gossip, rivalry, power plays, the stuff of every office. It will be compelling television with the added promise of true transformation, real jeopardy and serious adventure.”

To begin production next month, it is being produced with Essential Media Entertainment and Zinc FingerFilms.

Chris Hilton, Essential’s CEO & Executive Producer said “We’re honoured to have the first Australian factual commission from ABC2 with Do or Die.”

Defrim Isai, ScreenWest’s Director Production Investment said “This is a significant co-production for Western Australia and we congratulate Zinc FingerFilms and Sydney-based Essential Media Entertainment on the commissioning.”

  1. This is a complete waste of money.
Let the commercial stations make this sort of rubbish!
That’s where the audience is for this muck.
How can the ABC complain about lack of funding when they do this?
