Emmy Awards on ELEVEN, but….

ELEVEN will screen the Emmy Awards for Free to Air viewers, but not until four days later.

ELEVEN will screen the Emmy Awards but not until Friday September 23rd at 9:30pm.

It’s good that these will have a Free to Air screening but I’m surprised TEN didn’t make room for these on the day itself, given Jane Lynch is hosting and Glee is fast-tracked next Wednesday.

There’s every chance the show will also pick up a comedy award on Monday.

As previously noted these air live to air Monday morning on FOX8, at a slightly longer running time than ELEVEN’s edited edition.

TEN’s screening will follow a new season premiere of So You Think You Can Dance.

  1. It’s just not the same 5 days later. Better than nothing but it really seems like we are being thrown a bone by the network. We all pleaded our case last week on this site that the Emmys be shown and it seems to me rather mean spirited of the network if they did “listen” to make us wait that long.

  2. You can’t trust any award show on FTA networks.

Final straw was a few years back with the Oscars on Nine and they cut out important categories like best foreign film.

Record on Foxtel, Then if watching live, start watching about 40 mins into it and fast forward the bits you chose and catch up by the end.

  3. That’s ridiculous! By then the winners will be known and all the good bits written about in blogs and social media! Why can’t they screen them live, even on Eleven?!

  4. What’s the point?

The winners will be all over both local and international media (print and online). The “fashion” will be similarly widely covered. What reason does anyone have to watch? Even the highlights will no doubt appear on youtube well before Channel 10 screen it.

  5. well they will not rate this year because its 5 days later. although people will still swith over if there is nothing on and they are not desperate for the emmys.
but i dont think with ELEVEN ratings are a concern nothing rates on ELEVEN.

  6. Argh why? What with the news and entertainment shows we’d see most or all the good bits then. I won’t bother to watch it.

Thanks for the update on So You Think. Will look forward to a new season.
