Returning: Big Love

The fifth and final series of HBO drama Big Love returns to SBS ONE next month.

The fifth and final series of HBO drama Big Love returns to SBS ONE next month, moving to 10pm Thursday nights.

The timeslot will see it compete with Crownies on ABC1, when it moves for The Slap.

Feel like I will miss this show, but maybe it’s time to end while it’s still had some currency.

This season Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton) is now Utah’s newly elected State Senator, but having announced he was a polygamist, he and his family have to deal with the consequences.

Episode One – Winter
After some restful post-election days in the wilderness, reality hits the Henricksons hard on their return to Salt Lake City. At Home Plus, Bill’s attempts to bolster morale in the wake of his polygamist revelation fall on mostly deaf ears. On Capitol Hill, he faces an uphill battle for his political life, even before he has been sworn in.

At home, Bill tries to assuage some very real concerns of his wives and kids, who face both psychological and physical threats in town. To stem this growing tide of ill will, Bill decides to hold an open house for some 40,000 constituents, some of whom may actually show up.

Meanwhile, Alby returns from his desert exile with a newfound desire to ‘purify’ the compound, and exact vengeance on Bill.

Thursday, 6 October at 10.00pm on SBS ONE.

  1. I think that this show is good but havent been able to watch it maybe because it was on friday nights during the AFL season this timeslot sounds better. Will attempt to watch it and definelty watch it when this season of crownies finishes. I dont want to open i can of worms but i think the majority of people in this world are ignorant and are biggots. They will condone one thing but not another just because religion tells them not to. I personally think that the way things are gloing polygamy will be essential to the familiy unit suriving. Its either that or capitalism being denounced, i cant see that happening. Also david what did you mean with that reply?

  2. Finally! Don’t care about the clash with Crownies as I haven’t been watching. Saw about 20 mins a couple of weeks back and, despite what some people said, it hadn’t really improved at all.
