18 year old Victorian model Montana Cox has won the title of Australia’s Next Top Model 2011.
She beat 18 year old Queenslander Liz and 18 year old New South Wales contender Simone.
The public gave the vote to Montana over Liz, after Simone had been eliminated earlier.
“It was such an amazing journey and a life changing experience,” she said.
“I’ve loved every moment of it.”
The finale live from the Sydney Opera House hosted by Associate Executive Producer Sarah Murdoch went off without a hitch. It contrasted the notorious 2010 finale in which the wrong winner was announced (yes there was an envelope tonight).
This season, produced by Shine Australia, included two overseas trips for contestants to Paris and Dubai.
Montana wins a pile of prizes including a 12 month contract with Chic Management.

Will they ever bring out a show for the shorter models
@ David Knox, Dean. THanx for answering my question. Looks like they get some return on these shows.
The series when Alice won was the last time I saw the show which is fine by me because that was a great season.
And yes she’s extremely successful, she’s always featured in runway shows and she’s also in a hair colour commercial with the winner from last year I think. I even think it’s her in that Crownies poster with the blindfold.
Does anyone know how many votes Montana won by?
What6 was up with Sarah’s hair??It looked dreadful after looking so great most of the season- ughh – it did her no favors at all!
And Amanda the (eventual) winner from last year has been very successful both here and overseas. She is a featured model for Myer (pretty much the second most photographed behind Jennifer Hawkins) and she was signed by Elite Model Management in New York which has seen her work extensively at Fashion Weeks in New York and Paris.
Atleast they got it right this time around. They finally used an envelope instead on relying on Sarah’s hearing. The winner isnt bad looking though. I just have one query how successful are the winners of next top model australia, interms of getting work in catelogues or runnway work, or do they also suffer from the big brother/australian idol syndrome where we rarely ever here from the winner ever again.
Not that models are my area (!) but Alice Burdeu has been very successful and working internationally.
great finale. not too long and with a great result.
im glad montana won, she was able to speak eloquently, and i feel like she will be a fantastic embassador for the top model brand.
congrats montana!
dont know what was up with sarah’s hair though, it looked a mess against her beautiful gown! it looked nicer in the video pieces, which was unfortunate.
it was a very boring finale , granted it was short but looked cheap, last years (apart from the last five mins) look great
she was very very boring, i fell asleep everytime she spoke.
I liked Izzy
I wanted liz to win 🙁 hahaha oh well.
She was the best one from the start and the best person won.
Montana is incredible. Best model of any series of Top Model worldwide.
A good, tightly-paced finale without all the usual padding. Even Alex was tolerable (despite the stupid shades glued to his bald pate – and while I’m at it – can someone tell him his shirts are too small? Shouldn’t a designer know this????). Well done Sarah, a warm and neat hosting performance.
Oh sorry – I missed that line when I was reading first time around…
lol @GuanoLad
so now are we Sure she’s the winner?
I’m glad Montana won, I voted for her about 18 times.
Pretty low key finale really, good on them for keeping it to an hour, was quite pacey for a reality tv finale.
Did they use a headset again or did Sarah Murdoch have an envelope?
What a shame she was named after some other country’s State. If only she was named Australian Capital Territory.
Or Victoria, I suppose.
Was this the easiest to pick reality finale of all time? She’s done everything perfect for as long as I can remember on the show, the judges love her every episode, and online reaction to her has been super positive.
Hopefully she ends up having a successful career, which I think only one or two girls from ANTM have ever done.
