Tracy Grimshaw returns to ACA chair

Tracy Grimshaw will return to A Current Affair this week after four weeks’ bereavement leave following the death of her mother following a battle with cancer.

Her 77 year old mother had been unwell for some time, and was instrumental in her decision to relocate to Melbourne in recent years.

“We are absolutely bereft at the loss of Mum,” the very private host told the Sunday Herald Sun. “She fought her illness with grace and stoicism, and if anyone deserved a victory it was her.

“I’m so grateful to friends and family for their love, and also to my friends at Nine.”

Earlier this year mother and daughter enjoyed a trip to Central Australia.

ACA Executive Producer Grant Williams said, “Their bond wasn’t only that of a mother and daughter, they were best friends.”

  1. We missed Tracy a lot whilst she was away. She’s shown great courage this past year.
I admire her so much, she’s my favorite journalist (and person) and I have followed her career for years.
The relationship she’s had with her mum sounds like what I had with mine who also fought a brave fight against cancer.
Thank you Tracy for coming back, we’ve missed you. We’re all behind you and I hope on some level you feel supported by us (out in TV land) even though you don’t know us, You are very loved and appreciated.
    (((Hugs)))
    Love always.

  2. I actually saw the beginning of Friday’s episode and Tracy was interviewing someone at their house. Would that have been recorded before her leave?
